Popping in quickly again to share a couple of cards that I made a while ago and have just seen the perfect challenges for them.
1.
After using the die to cut the panel I lightly embossed a piece of card so I could see the impressions and then coloured it with alcohol markers before positioning it behind the panel.

I just love doing inlaid die cuts and also love the detail on this cover plate, but even I wasn't going to inlay all these little pieces! Just doing these 2 pieces on each shape took a long time, but it is so satisfying and I love the result.

ReplyDeleteI love both your cards! Very clever that colouring behind the diecut. And the inlay card is beautiful too. I saw the You Tube video about the die cuts and ink and how to make a background with it. Very nice technique.

ReplyDeleteBrilliant ways to use the dies, Hilary! Love the look of the soft colors on the cards. I think this technique is perfect for times when I feel lazy - no inlay, but still great effects!

Such effective use of dies Hilary, the first makes such a special and different new baby card and the second art deco style is so striking in the colours used.
