Today I have made 2 cards for the Twofer #7 that I think are unlike any cards I have made before. I like this challenge as it makes me think differently, but it does take me a long time to come up with something, the prompt word this month is beverage. Luckily I have had time this week and it has been too hot here to do much anyway.
Here are my cards:
The teacup die I have used was free with simply Cards and Papercraft Magazine and I haven't used it before. Here is a closer look at my first card:
I wanted to use the letters T and U to put over my message and was going to use them for the text around the card but in the end I just used them on the background which was created using distress oxide ink. I then randomly stamped T's, U's and hearts in VersaMark ink and heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. the teacups are cut out of patterned paper, I reversed the die for the middle one. The word frame was designed and printed using my Scan n Cut machine.
Here is a closer look at the background and teacups:
I have been keen to start using fabric on my cards again as I have quite a large stash of fabrics which haven't been used for a while. I particularly like Liberty Print Tana Lawn and have a big pile of little offcuts, which are brilliant for cards. When I saw Less is More #375 olive and tangerine, I knew what colours to use. The teacups are cut from Liberty print fabric and the background is watercolour paint spritzed with cosmic shimmer mist. The sentiment is a quote from the mad hatter in Alice in Wonderland, I shall use this card as an invitation to tea.
Here it is:

I am very tempted to put some enamel dots in the white space but I am resisting that urge!
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today, I really appreciate it and would love to hear what you think about my cards.
Thank you
Hilary
