With Love

Hello,
Today I am sharing a card I have made for the current challenge at Freshly made sketches 321. I made the embellishments on this card by layering pigment ink and clear embossing powder on the die cuts. I love the glossy effect that this technique creates but it can be messy and fiddly. The backing layer was made with alcohol ink on yupo paper.
Here is the card:

And a close up so you can see the shine:

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today, I really appreciate it and if you can also take the time to leave me a comment it would be even better. I know how hard that can be though so don't worry if you don't.

Thank you

Hexagons

Hello,
Today I have made a card for Case this sketch #256, something made me want to enter this challenge but I had no idea what to do for it. Eventually I found a load of hexagons that I had previously made, I knew they would come in handy one day! I am also sharing it at Addicted to stamps and more.
Here is my card:

The ink used is pearlescent so it has a lovely shine which you can see on this photo:

Valentine

Hello,
Today I have a valentines day card to share. I am entering this card in Addicted to Cas #128 Ombre. I have deliberately avoided traditional valentines colours. Here is the card:

I cut the heart with my scan n cut using a file from Love SVG, I love this design and it is a free file. Thanks to dessert diva for introducing me to this site. I added the frame to the heart in scan n cut canvas and also wrote the sentiment with my scan n cut.

Watercolour Flower

Hello,
Today I am sharing a card I made for my daughters birthday. I hope you like it:

I stamped and heat embossed the image onto hot pressed watercolour paper. I then used brusho paints to fill the card with colour and I added detail to the flower with my Zig clean colour real brush pens. The sentiment was printed onto velum using my Scan n Cut machine.

I am sharing it at Happy Little Stampers watercolour challenge.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today, I really appreciate it and if you can also take the time to leave me a comment it would be even better, I love getting comments, it makes my day.  I know how hard that can be though so don't worry if you don't.

Single Flower

Hello,
Today I made a card that I am sharing at 2 challenges:

1. The flower Challenge - Spotlight Stamping
2. Just Us Girls challenge 406, colour

Here is my card:

I wanted to try the spotlight stamping as I think it is a really effective technique. I used spectrum noir alcohol markers and although I am not very good at colouring I am reasonably pleased with the effect. I decided to add the enamel dots as an afterthought.

I chose the colours so that I could also enter the Just Us Girls colour challenge. That was very helpful because I find choosing colours one of the hardest things.

Feathers

Hello,
Today I have made two cards in order to enter Darnell's Twofer challenge. When I first saw the theme was 'feathers' I felt a bit stumped, but I looked through my stamp collection and found 2 stamps that I had not used before. Eventually I came up with these cards:

The card on the left came first and as I was making it I realised it would fit 2 other challenges namely
Simply less is more 362 purples and Freshly Made Sketches 319. As I was making it I felt it needed something extra so I traced over the stamped images with a Gelly Roll sparkle pen. I also used the sparkle pen to write the sentiment.

I have tried to show the sparkle in the following photo:

My second card came about as I have recently seen cards made using stamping and colouring on black card, so this is my attempt to emulate that. I am not sure how successful I have been though. I have used metallic colouring pencils for the colour and again went over the stamping with a silver sparkle pen to add sparkle.

Entering these challenges has forced me to do something different, which has to be good for me. I hope you like them.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today, I really appreciate it and if you can also take the time to leave me a comment it would be even better. I know how hard that can be though so don't worry if you don't.

Thanks

Hello,
Today I am sharing a thank you card. I have a number of cards to send after a very lovely Christmas but as ever I am happier making the cards than actually writing and sending them! Once I have done this post I will write them, I will.....

I am entering this card in the crazy for cas challenge 2, all colours of the rainbow and Time Out challenge 100, anything goes.

Here is my card, I hope you like it:

The daisy stamp is from Clarity Stamp, the thanks is cut using my Scan n Cut and backed with gold card, which has a nice sheen to it when the light catches it right. The panel is mounted with craft foam. I used my alcohol marker pens for the rainbow colours.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today, I really appreciate it, and if you can also take the time to leave me a comment it would be even better. I know how hard that can be though so don't worry if you don't, it is just nice that you had a look.
Thank you
