Today I have a couple of cards for this months Twofer Challenge #30 where the prompt is Sun/Moon.
When I saw the prompt I thought that I already had a card made that was perfect all I needed was a second card so that wouldn't take long would it? Of course it took longer than I hoped as it just wouldn't come together in reality as it did in my head. Anyway, I did create a second card eventually so here is my Twofer:
The common element in my cards is the sunburst stencil by Clarity Stamp. I had recently acquired the foliage frame die by Pinkfresh Studio and I had made this card before seeing the Twofer Challenge for this month.
I love this die, it cuts beautifully first time every time and it releases from the die easily. I get so frustrated when new dies don't cut well and get stuck fast so you end up tearing the paper to get it out.
Once I had cut the die I looked through my unused background folder to see what would work behind it and there was this gel print that I made some time ago and hadn't found a use for. The hello sunshine was cut from another left over watercoloured piece that I found in the same folder. This card came together quite easily.
I think it kind of works but it is not quite how I wanted it to look. The trouble with foiling using this method is you have to put it through your die cutting machine and that has the effect of dulling the foil. Perhaps one day I might get a laminator, who knows.
At least I have used up several bits from my left over folder. I made some other cards with that frame die too, which I might share in due course. Have a lovely weekend.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today, I really appreciate it.

So creative, Hilary--both of them! The foiled card especially appeals to me--unique & beautiful!
2 great cards Hilary - fab designs.
I have a laminator - and still struggle getting perfect foils - I've lost count of the number than have seen the bin!
I like the effect - and you say it's dull but to me it looks just fine!
Wow, I love your twofer, great ideas, design and techniques.
Oh wow, this is absolutely fabulous! I'm still thinking and it's almost time...I think it's hard to discover the possibility of a stamp or stencil for the moon as well for the sun. And you did it!
Two brilliant and gorgeous cards. xx
Two gorgeous cards, Love your moon over water, the gold casts such a beautiful beam of light :)
Well done putting together both of these beaming designs, Hilary! I really like the way that stencil ends in dotty rays. It is beautifully colored and gleaming and it looks so fine behind that airy leafy die cut! And your second design is fantastic and creative, even if it did have a mind of its own! I love your uber shiny foil moonlight and sky behind the oval framed aperture. Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #30! Keep Well! Hugs, Darnell
The sun shining through the leafy frame is so warm and welcoming, Hilary ... and what great use of the same stencil for your shimmery moonlit scene ...the night sky is gorgeous with all those stars! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Twofer! Anita :)
Both cards are so stunning. And I like this great stencil.
Nice use of the stencil Hilary. Love the sunset looking one with the black leafy frame those colors just pop. YOur oval aperture card is lovely with its layers bringing the eye to the rising moonlight. Love the night sky you achieved here. Thanks for playing along with us at twofer challenge #30.
Two awesome cards Hilary and I don't think I could choose a favourite as I'm very partial to all things sun and moon.

Two fabulous cards! So different, but equally dramatic! I love the foiling:)
I love that the gold isn't shiny and has that bit of texture to it! It's beautiful against the night sky! The first card is such a contrast with the bright, sunny, colors! Great job on your Twofers, Hilary!
I think you've aced the challenge between reality and what was 'in your head', Hilary! The foiling is gorgeous - and there is nothing more beautiful than watching the moon rise over the water!
Well, there is the sunshine through the trees while lying in the grass - also pretty satisfying!
Two very lovely cards!

You are so clever both cards are fantastic, however for me the standout is your second card. It may have been fiddly it is also a great success. x
How clever to do both a sun and moon card, Hilary, and they are both awesome.
Both beautiful cards love the stencil and the large die-cut frame on the first card

What a fabulous stencil to use for your twofer! I love the leafy border around your sunshine on your Hello card! Your moonbeams on the water is such a clever idea, and looks wonderful with your night sky! Thanks for joining in the fun with us at the Twofer Card Challenge!
Two beauties with that stencil, Hilary!! Just love how different they look! Especially love the yellow rays with the leafy frame!!
