January CCC Reveal

Today is 2nd January so it is reveal time over at the  Card Chain Challenge where you sign up each month to send a card to a fellow crafter. This month my card went to Jeanne in Minneapolis. Unfortunately I don't think it has arrived yet, even though I sent it in good time this month, sorry Jeanne.

From the list of options this month I used the colour palette, sketch, stencils and friendship. You can see the options here. I have put in the link rather than the pictures because blogger doesn't seem to like copying and pasting pictures anymore.

I used distress oxide inks to blend my background then used a punch to cut different sized circles in a piece of paper. Then I dabbed a damp sponge onto the ink through the holes to make the design. I cut the panel with a scalloped edged die, heat embossed the sentiment, tied some rather nice cold string round it and attached it to a piece of corrugated card. The panel was mounted on a kraft card base and finished off with a bow and a few sequins.

I decorated the card insert with the same coloured ink using the same paper stencil.

My card from Jutta in Canada arrived today, just in time for me to add it to my post. I love those balloons and the striped foiled background. She also included some die cut doilies that I hope to find a use for.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Kraft; corrugated kraft; bristol board
Ink: Distress Oxide
Stamps: My Favourite Things
Dies: Create a Smile

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today, I really appreciate it.

Such a lovely card, the colors are just wonderful. Isn't it the Bokeh technique you did? Well anyway, I love it!

I'm running very late this week Hilary, but wanted to pop in and say how much I love your creations as always. Always something very pleasing about circles.

What a gorgeous card!! Reminds me of sunsets and beaches (that's probably because of the corrugated card and kraft card.) I love how you've given the same design on the envelope as well.
