CCC Reveal Day

Hello and welcome to another Card Chain Challenge reveal post, 35 people took part in March so I can guarantee that visiting the challenge blog will be worth it.

When I saw the product/technique options for March included paper piecing I was very pleased, as I had a paper pieced card all ready. I originally made it for my DT post over at CAS Mix Up this month but I didn't use it because the finished card really isn't CAS. That has happened to me more than once recently, I get my idea and go ahead and make and then no, it won't work for one reason or another.

My card went to Marianne in Crete. Unfortunately I think it is still in transit.

I didn't have to worry about masking this one as I knew I would be covering up the flower so I created my background with  stencils.

I stamped the flower again onto 3 different colours of patterned paper and fussy cut it inside the stamp line and then glued the pieces in place. I used alcohol markers in similar colours to colour the middle of the flower. To finish I mounted it on a piece of pink paper and stamped the sentiment which is from the same set then mounted it onto a 7x5 inch base card,

I am due to receive a card from Linda in Michigan that that one is still in transit too. The post is certainly strange these days as a couple of weeks ago the card I sent to Elena in Arizona in February was returned to me with a note saying it was not deliverable. When I checked that the address was correct Elena said yes, it was. So I put it in a new envelope and posted it again. I hope it arrives this time. That card will have crossed the Atlantic Ocean 3 times!

Supplies:
Cardstock: White smooth stamping card; gingham patterned paper
Ink: Versafine onyx black; various distress inks
Stamps: Woodware
Stencils: AAL & CREATE

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today, I really appreciate it.

Cute paper pieced card. I have stopped mailing cards for awhile due to the postal system. I'm going to wait until they get it together. I had a prize mailed to me from Pixie's Playground last week and it got here last night. Less than a week and it was here from the UK. [Bunny]

Hilary, this color-filled card is perfect for your pen-pal in Corfu! She's going to love it! I sure do.
Who can guess what's up with our mail system these days - too bad it affects mail that already takes so long!

Beautiful card Hilary. I like the paper piecing.
The card being sent to me in January was returned to the sender this week (don't know why it took 2 months and where it has been in the meantime as it doesn't appear to have reached NZ). She is going to re-send it so hopefully I receive it this time!

This flower is so pretty, Hilary! I've had the same problem with finishing a card and realizing it wasn't what it should be! It worked perfectly for this! Our mail is crazy. I've had cards returned as undeliverable and upon checking find the address is correct.

What a fantastic card! I love all that visual texture in the card and the look of mixed media. Paper piecing looks fabulous on that large flower as well. Wow!!
Strange things with the post - I hope everything gets delivered!
