Today is reveal day over at the Card Chain Challenge, this month 31 people exchanged cards so the reveal post will be a real feast. This month I made my card using the sketch and the colours.
I started by making the background to cut into strips. I got out my gelli plate and played about with some paint, ink and stencils. Once I was happy with the look, I carefully cut it into 4 equal strips that would fit a 7X5 inch card. Glueing them onto the mat evenly was the hardest part of making this card. I really struggle with keeping my lines straight and I hate it when they are uneven or crooked.
The flower die by Crafters Companion is the star of this card, I think.
It arrived on 7th May, here it is:
I love it, thanks GerJanne.
Supplies:
Cardstock: White stamping card; various, coloured scraps; 7x5 white card base
Ink: Distress and distress oxide
Dies: Pretty Posy double sided die Gemini by Crafters Companion; Hello from Sunflower die set by Pretty Quick
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today, I really appreciate it.

It's a lovely idea doing the card swap Hilart and your is lovely with the panels and pretty colour palette.
I have a note (as forgot to tell you before) you asked if I had used an embossing folder on a purple card, the answer is yes, it's a Tattered Lace one. Years from back from my time on their DT, not even sure they make embossing folders anymore.
Enjoy the rest of the bank holiday weekend.

Hi Hilary,
It will arrive, I'm sure...And I think it's a funny one. Hope we have the same sense of humor.
Your card is wonderful. Very delicate, this flower and the inlay technique. The sketch and the colors are just perfect!
This is stunning, Hilary! What a fab take on the sketch. Thanks for being a link in our chain again, Jo x
One of the loveliest takes on the sketch that I have seen.
what a gorgeous die cut Hilary - love the colors you used on it - so pretty layered over the die cut strips!
That's a really beautiful die cut, and i love the look of it - those colors look amazing! Your gelli plate design looks really awesome as well! I just got into it, and I'm loving it! Its a wonderful card, all in all, Helen!
A lovely card Hilary, nice use of the sketch and that gorgeous floral die, Robyn
Wonderful implementation of the sketch and the color challenge!!!
Really pretty die cut Hilary, it looks lovely with the touches of colour and the background is a perfect complement (and all looks straight to me!).
Great job with what I would find as difficult colours to put together Hilary! Lovely card. x
Lovely card Hilary. Looks like those strips are perfectly straight! I know what you mean about lining things up ... seems harder as I get older. :) I have heard of the card chain for a while, but didn't realize that it was a challenge with option of sketch or colours. You did great with these colours. I would never have thought to use them together. Beautiful card that will be treasured by the recipient. Looking forward to seeing the card you receive in the mail! xx
Love your gel plate stripes Hilary and WOW to that glorious double sided die. A really striking card x.
Great use of these colors, Hilary, and I'm impressed with how straight your panels are! Somehow, I seem to always get something off. A lovely die too!
Clever use of those colours, your handmade background is lovely!
