Today is 15th of the month so time for a reminder for our current challenge over at CAS Mix Up. This month we are using stencils and Loll is our host. She wants us to create a monoprint with our stencils.
My Scan N Cut has been sadly neglected in recent times, but I decided to get it out and have a play with my WRMK Foil Quills as I have been admiring all the foiled cards I have seen recently. I decided the trick to using hot foil and the quills is to have the right image, so when I saw these on Etsy I had to buy them. This is the first card I made using them and it worked a treat, I hope you can appreciate the shine.
I decided to make another card using this design. I just changed how I did the sentiment, the framing and I used a piece of coloured card. Which do you prefer?
I used distress oxide for this one. Unfortunately the camera didn't capture the colour of the cardstock on close up.
You have until 24th to join us and don't forget to visit the blog to get more inspiration and some links to technique videos to help.
I am looking forward to seeing you in the gallery.
This is the last post for CAS Mix Up this year. We take a break in December, so see you in January 2022. Have a wonderful Christmas break.
I have made some more cards with these lovely flowers and my trusty Scan N Cut, which I am happy to be using again. I will share them at some point I expect.
Supplies:
Cardstock: Stamping card; 160gsm coloured card; Adorable scorable coated card
Ink: Distress ink
Dies: Stitched rectangle frame dies
Stamp: All my love sentiment, Concord & 9th
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today, I really appreciate it.

These are lovely. I'm starting to get more into stencils now and enjoying them. [Bunny]
Both of these are so pretty, Hilary! Love the green foiled leaves, circle and sentiment! The monoprint is so perfect fit inside that circle! Two fabulous cards, my friend! Can't pick a favorite.
Both cards are my favorite, Hilary:-) I am so impressed that you were able to stencil the monoprint image perfectly inside your dotted foiled circle. Your foiled open leaves image, framing and sentiments were perfect for both cards too. TFS my friend. Happy Holidays...Love and Hugs..Nancy

wonderful combination with the foil and the monoprint XX
Both cards look amazing, Hilary. The foiling looks exquisite, and I'm actually also amazed by the fact that that red (or coral??) moprinting has stayed true to color even on that colored cardstock! But, seriously, great looking cards!
Two beauties, Hilary. Love the colours of green and orange together ... so fresh! Gorgeous with the shine from your foiling. Both are really lovely! xx
Inspired creations Hilary and lovely idea adding the foiling which really pops against the stencil work.

Absolutely fabulous. Great colours, image and brilliantly designed. x
The foil glimmer really shows up in your first photo, and then is totally green in the second, but equally pretty. That's amazing. I don't use foils and know nothing, so it's all very interesting to see. Love how brilliantly the masking worked so you could do your stencil monoprint. It is just perfect within the glimmer circle! I love the soft green and pretty sequins in your second card. Choose a favorite? Not me! That's how I end up with so many stamps -- can't choose just one!
Lovely cards Hilary. The addition of the foiled element adds a lovely focal point.
Such fun designs, Hilary. Love how the stencil monoprint fits it the middle. I hear you about neglected tools. I have been doing some foiling with a laminator this weekend during the Eat Sleep Crafty Retreat and intend to use my Gemini FoilPress next...

The cards change their appearance with different incidence of light, great effect.
The foiling sure has the 'Wow' factor on both cards and I love your choice of stencil for the fun technique. Both cards are striking and nope....No favourites from me Hilary as I love them both x.
Sweet and elegant cards, my fav is the pale green one. The shining of the foil and the delicate foliage stamp look amazing, as well your stencilled monoprint and sequins!
Hugs!
Absolutely lovely cards. I adore how their upbeat colour palette feels equally at home in the spring, summer, and (at the very least) early fall.

Two beautiful cards Hilary, I love the foiling over the stencil monoprint looks awesome!
The the mix of the foiling, quilling and monoprint creates a clean card with a great deal on detail and interest. I love the effect you've achieve. Looks like lots of layers but isn't. Great way to make lovely cards that are some mailable and impressive.
WOW! Just look at that shine! The perfect image for foiling, and the stencil monoprint is the perfect backdrop.
So sorry for the late visit, life's just got in the way recently!
These are both beautiful! I really love the look of the 2nd card with the colored cardstock. The foiling is gorgeous!
