We Love Stamping May Challenge

Today is the first Sunday of the month, so time for a new challenge over at We Love Stamping where you get the opportunity to show off your love of stamping.  This month the theme is:

**   For a Lady   **

I have been finding it hard to come up with ideas recently and was in danger of falling behind with my DT duties, so in order to come up with this card I sat down and went through all my stamps and settled on this pretty wreath, which came free with a magazine. I think it was one of the first I ever bought.

I stamped and heat embossed the wreath and made a rough mask for it from copy paper before stamping the background lattice pattern. I used a small blending brush to add colour and added detail with colored pencils.

The sentiment was done on the computer and the little gold dots made with a gold gel pen. I also added a few tiny gems to finish it off.

Don't forget there is always a prize to be won and this month the prize is a Field of Dreams paper pad and stamps from Craft Stash.  Why don't you head over to the challenge blog to check it out? The prize winner is selected randomly and in addition the DT will choose one entry to join us as a guest designer for a future challenge.

I hope I have inspired you to join us this month, all you have to do is follow the prompt and ensure stamping is the main focus on your card. The challenge will close at noon on Wednesday the 1st June.

I am looking forward to seeing you in the gallery.

I am also sharing this at:

I dont think I have noticed the name of your blog before my mind went directly to "Tommy" and Keith Moon's "Uncle Ernie".

Your WLS sample is such a contrast to my random thought process and completely fitting for A Lady. Love your inspiration process as well what a wonderful way to remind yourself of the things in your collection. xx

Such a delicate and feminine look has your card! Love so much how you combined the floral wreath with the the background lattice pattern and all the gold that gives a very elegant feel to the whole creation! Your own computer generated sentiment is the perfect centre to catch the eyes and I think you stamped it firstly, before adding the stamps, as I can't see any cut shape...it's correct? Love the tiny gems that add touches of light!

Beautiful and elegant card Hilary. Love the gold embossing on your wreath of flowers and the lattice background. The sponged blue really makes the sentiment stand out and the touches of colour in the flowers are so pretty. xx

This is beautifully feminine and that makes it perfect for your challenge. I adore a wreath, especially when it's this lovely with the flowers and gold. Good job masking, and I love the sprinkles in the center -- both the stamped dots and the gems. Such tiny stars! You mention having a hard time coming up with ideas. It's not always easy stamping on a scheduled theme, especially when it's clear how much it matters to you that you create a quality thing of beauty. You're always right on the mark with the finished product.
