CAS Mix Up is back, I am so pleased to be here again after our break. I do hope you will be able to join us. This month we are using Stencils and Loll is our host. She wants us to use pastes and gels with our stencils. This post also marks 2 years since my first DT card for CAS Mix Up, I can't believe how the time has gone.
I am not sure that the pictures show it very well, but I have used a glossy paste with this tulip stencil that I coloured with ink refills to create the pink and green. It worked well although it did dampen the glossiness and also lightened the colour considerable, but I like the look. If trying it just remember to ensure the paste is completely dry before going on to the next colour.
Once the tulips were dry I added the little dots from the same stencil set with gold stencil paste. I really enjoyed using my pastes again and am glad that this one wasn't all dried out when I opened it.
It is so lovely to be back, I hope you will find time to join us.
You have until 24th to join us and don't forget to visit the blog to get more inspiration and some links to technique videos to help.
I am looking forward to seeing you in the gallery.

This is such a beautiful card Hilary - simplicity perfection!
(Can't believe it's 2 years since you joined us either!) x
This is such a sweet card Hilary! I love your tulip border with three colours of stenciled paste ... that's a lot of work, but it was well worth it with the beautiful design you achieved. The tree with the sweet bird is a perfect finish to your pretty garden scene. xx
Oops ... hit publish too quickly. :) Congrats on your two years with CAS Mix Up! It's amazing how quickly that time went. So happy to have you on the team, my friend! xx
Beautiful card Hilary love the stencilled border and congrats on your 2 yrs

You are very good on CAS cards Hilary, they are never banal or too simple. Love so much the effect of the sweet tulip border, well done on colouring the paste and the palette is so spring like! The matching envelope and insert make all even more precious! The hammer background adds texture, great choice! And the diecut tree with the gold bird and birdhouse is adorable and so cute!
Congrats for your two years at CAS Mix Up!!
Hugs
Hi Hilary,
Your card looks very delicate! Lovely details, like the birdhouse in gold!
I hope to join you. I like to play with stencils (got some from a wonderful British friend 😉) You will see me in the galery!
What wonderful texture and color with these tulips, Hilary! Love the die cut tree too!
What cute little tulips and the technique looks so pretty Hilary. A beautiful card and Happy 2nd year of being on the fabulous CAS Mix Up design team x.
Beautiful Clean and Simple Stenciled Paste designed card, Hilary. I love your sweet soft spring painted colors over your stenciled tulips. I know the painting is time consuming, but the results are so pretty. Your partial die cut tree and tiny sentiment are the perfect addition along with your hammered background texture. It has been wonderful having you on our CAS Mix Up Design Team for 2 years...time sure does fly by...you fit right into our CAS Mix Up Creative Family, my friend. Love and Hugs..Nancy
I'm happy that your challenge is back and with a challenging topic, because I've never worked with pastes or gels like this before.
Your card is enchanting, like a little walk through a garden.
Happy 2nd anniversary as a CAS DT member, Hilary! You continue to represent the group beautifully!
You know I love my tulips - yours stenciled in a row are just adorable... I still can't get over how well these pastes hold up to die cutting machines!
I adore that darling tree - looks like your mama bird is happy with her home!

Gorgeous crisp colours of the tulips against the white background. That hammered card is so pretty ♥
This is just so cute, the tulip border looks so pretty. Love the die cut tree too xx
Love the pretty stenciled strip and thanks for reminder about waiting for it to dry, must admit to being impatient when the idea is fresh in the mind. :)
What a darling little garden you created with your tulip line, tree, birdhouse and bird. Sweet!
A cute stencil and your use of it is a nice idea for this challenge. I love the darling little tree die, too. A pretty garden created for your CAS card, Hilary!
Congrats on your anniversary! A special card for the occasion! :)
I love the colors you've chosen for this card, and all the die cut layers in white as well. And the card looks really sweet. :)
I love how delicate and pretty this is.
I am so impatient that it probably isn't a technique for me!
Wow Hilary I'm so impressed! Such patience to get the 3 colours so perfectly stencilled! Your card is very pretty!
What a special row of tulips, Hilary! And perfect with the tree die cut on the side - love this!! Congrats on 2 yrs with CAS Mix-up; I'll have to get there one day...
Love that round die cut tree on the edge of your pretty row of paste stenciled tulips Hilary - how sweet are they! Great technique coloring them with re-inkers! (I might have thought that could bleed over the edges onto the card?! - but I guess not!) xx
Great card for the challenge Hilary and I love the Tulip border with the different colours for each element.
