Today is 15th of the month so time for a reminder about the current challenge over at CAS Mix Up. This month we are using stencils and Loll is our host. She wants us to use pastes and gels with our stencils.
I made the panel that you can see in the bottom left of the above picture some time ago and decided that now was the time to use it. This was made by using deco foil duo transfer gel with my stencil and then laying on the foil and running it through a die cutting machine. This is a turnabout stencil and so I was able to use 4 different coloured foils. I did my usual trick of spending ages doing it and then deciding I didn't like it because it wasn't perfect. Well it never will be perfect because the act of running it through a die cutting machine 4 times will have an effect. In the end the effect is still quite good but I didn't realise that until I came across the piece again. This is actually the same stencil set that I used on my first card this month. Find it here if you need reminding.
Of course it went through the die cutting machine again to cut the circle, but no extra damage was done. I mounted it on a slightly larger circle of shiny gold card and then on the hemstitch circle frame, which was also backed with the shiny gold card.
The sentiment is stamped in brown ink and then it was mounted onto a hammer embossed card base. I am actually quite pleased with this one and am pleased that this challenge made me visit my pastes and gels again as they really are great to use. Thanks Loll.

Hilary I'm always delighted to see the hemstitching! It's the lovely, foiled pastes inside that really are the star of the card today! Gorgeous results from all of your efforts, my friend!

It's beautiful Hilary and this is why they say keep it and look at it another day and we are our own worst critics too!I love the texture and the die-cut frame

Love this Hilary - the colours look great together and hats off to you for the foil - you're too critical cos I think it looks fab!
Such lovely effect with your turnabout stencil and the deco foil gels! That hemstitch circle frame backed with the shiny gold card looks so elegant!
Hugs, have a happy rest of the week!
OMG..Hilary, Your foil gel turnabout stenciled main circle image is stunning and so beautifully framed with your Hemstitch Circle Die. TFS your photos and your detailed description, my friend. Love and Hugs..Nancy
LOVE your four colours done in this beautiful stencil, Hilary! It doesn't look like the stencil from your launch card ... so clever how you've used it differently and created such different designs. Fabulous texture and beautiful design, my friend. xx
I love how you got all the different colors on your design piece, Hilary! So pretty with the gold foil and hemstitch framing! A wonderful design!
awesome effect with the foil and gell. love the card ♥
Great technique, Hilary. Thank you for sharing the steps. Lovely card, my friend.
Great use of the paste Hilary, love the foiling on the paste with the added touches of gold.
Only in the close-up can you see how beautifully designed the inside of the circle is. A simple but very effective card.
You are so good at the multi colours! Beautiful card!
Oh wow--this is wonderful, Hilary! Love everything about it!
This is quite amazing, Hilary. I really can't imagine even trying. Your attention to detail makes you critical of yourself, but I cannot see a single thing lacking in this creation. You make the most interesting and pretty cards!
This looks fab. I love the colours and the texture, great stencil design too xx
What a beautiful foiled medallion. Quite the journey but oh what a spectacular result. Bravo! So well done dear friend xx
You got gorgeous results, using the turnabout stencil, Hilary! The shiny pattern inside the hemstitched circle looks amazing! It was worth the effort and patience. ;-)
The texture of the hammer embossed card base is subtle but adds so much interest.
