Welcome, it is the 18th so time for our April reminder post over at We Love Stamping. If you love stamping too, I hope you will join us, if you haven't already - you can enter up to 3 times.
Cathy has chosen our theme this month. It is Cathy's last month as part of our DT so I hope you get a chance to go and visit her:
**Favourite Stamps/Add Ribbon Or Lace**
OR
**Anything Goes**
I have 2 cards to share today, both use the same stamp set (Woodware clear magic singles 'mini blooms') and same design, but I think they look quite different.
I started by taking some hot pressed (smooth) water colour paper and cutting my tag. The flower (Woodware clear magic singles mini blooms) was stamped and clear heat embossed before I used brusho paints for the background. I cut a second tag and inked it with the same ink as the flower. The little piece of ribbon holds them together. I took a coloured card base and covered it with this cover die by Simon Hurley for Spellbinders. It is an A2 die and my card base is metric A6, hence the gaps top and bottom. I used to be really picky about such things and would only use A2 sized cards with A2 dies, but this time I didn't mind. I think it was because I thought the colour of my card base was such a good match. The sentiment (wreath turnabout stamp set by Concord & 9th) was stamped and heat embossed onto a scrap of the same water colour paper and I finished with the green enamel dots.
For some reason, I found myself making a second card. the flower stamp is from the same Woodware set and the sentiment is from pen sketched flowers set by Altenew. The background die is from Memory Box.
Don't forget there is always a prize to be won and this month it is a collection of stamps from Fairy Hugs. Why don't you head over to the challenge blog to check it out? The prize winner is selected randomly and in addition the DT will choose a top three for special mention.
I hope I have inspired you to join us this month, all you have to do is ensure stamping (including digi) is seen somewhere on your card front, it no longer needs to be the main focus. Please also mention the products used. It would be great if you could join in with our theme, but anythings goes is always an option if you are out of ideas. The challenge will close at noon (UK time) on Wednesday 30th April.
I am looking forward to seeing you in the gallery.
I have really been enjoying the spring blossom round my way over the last couple of weeks, so I thought I would share a photo of this cherry tree, which is thriving in the local cemetery. I think the blossom has been particularly good this year. I hope you are getting to enjoy it too.
I am also sharing card 2 at:

2 wonderful floral cards, it is amazing how different they look and just shows the versatility of stamps. Emmax
2 gorgeous cards Hilary, you are right they look so different but both are equally vibrant and lovely xx
Think it must be a good season for Cherry trees as all four of ours dotted around the boundary are looking very good this year.
Both your tag cards are pretty, love the fresh greens but equally the warmer orange one.

Hilary, your tags are darling - love that little bloom - and your backgrounds are both fantastic, too!
Not one blossoming tree in my view, or walking path! I may have to visit my favorite orchard!

Two beautiful cards Hilary. You put so much work into your designs and it truly shows! I love to see the cherry blossom at this time of year but our recent two days of heavy rain has not the blossom right off now! Hope you have a lovely Easter.

Both beautiful cards, love the cover die on first card and the fresh green on the second card.

We've had beautiful and plentiful blooms this year too, Hilary! Despite the pollen, we are enjoying them. Your flowers are so bright and happy! Two very different looks!
Beautiful floral tags, Hilary - love both versions!! Pretty cherry blossoms too!!
Beautiful Brusho backgrounds on your tag, you reminded me how fun it is heat embossing and watercolouring over it ♥
Love the different looks of the stamp on the two cards, and the pretty background you created as well. Great cards, Hilary!
Two wonderful cards Hilary - the green one really appeals to me. Love how you used the brushos on the first one. I too find it frustrating to have the size difference, and I sometimes use a piece of ribbon at the top or bottom to 'hide' the 'blank'.
Blessings
Maxine
I'm enjoying your cards in the two different color schemes, Hilary! Cute Woodware flowers and wonderful background die. You made it work nicely for you by centering with the border top and bottom. Love your inky backgrounds, too. The cherry tree is spectacular! Thank you for sharing such a beautiful sight!
OH! What wonderful and beautiful cards Hilary, I love the colour of the first and the elegance of the second. Beautiful designs. The tree is so lovely, I think you're right about the blossom this year, it seems to be everywhere and in abundance. x
Your cards are fantastic! I love the background of the tags. And the enveloppes...in the same theme, lovely.
Yes that cherry tree is beautiful. All the trees with blossom are so great now!
Two very striking creations Hilary. I love the beautiful Cherry tree. It has been lovely working with you, I hope we come across each other in blog land if my life settles down.

Two great cards. I particularly like the die cut background on the first one. Our cherry tree has no blossom now, doesn't last long and the strong wind we had the other day didn't help.
Hi Hilary these are absolutely gorgeous I don't think you can go wrong with Woodware stamps I have loads some I haven't used yet, I love the colours you have chosen although it is the same stamp they look so different ACE work

Hi Hilary
Two great makes, but I particularly love the first one. Gorgeous colours.
Lots of blossom on the tree in the car park where my Mum lives .. .. she can see it from her chair when she is in the living room and gives me a running report on it most days - especially if it is windy and getting blown about a lot. Lots of blossom fell onto my car when I was with her yesterday, and of course it stuck to it because it had also been raining. Hoping it is going to blow off it today! LOL!!
Hope you had a good Easter break.
Love and hugs
Jules xoxo
Fabulous and lovely cards in both way.
Wow what a cherry tree;-))m
Very pretty cards with the tags! Wonderful backgrounds using brusho paints! And, beautiful photo of the cherry tree! Our cherry tree just blossomed the other day. Signs of spring are certainly here!
Both cards are lovely, Hilary! I like the cover plate with the card showing at the top and bottom--looks planned! Love cover plates like the MB one you used. I've been thinking about getting another one. Beautiful tree! The cherry blossoms on our street were gorgeous this year, but now we have pink snow on the ground which I'll be glad to have gone.
Two lot cards and as you say, they look completely different.
Thanks for sharing at Stamping Sensations. Avril x
Love this!
Beautiful details for this lovely card!!
