Today is the first Sunday of the month so time for a new challenge over at We Love Stamping. Where we love to see you showcase your stamping.
Pinky has chosen our theme this month:
**Four legged friends**
OR
**Anything Goes**
I find making cards for my grandchildren's birthdays a real challenge, but when this stamp (Penny Black 4237K Let's Party) arrived in a package from the wonderful and very generous Mia, I knew what I would make for my youngest granddaughter this year. I stamped it in versafine onyx black and then coloured it with my Zig real brush water colour pens. As I never know where to start with colours, I just followed the colours on the illustration. The panel was cut with a Lisa Horton die and the happy birthday and today were stamped and clear heat embossed. The numbers were die cut (I don't have any small number stamps) using clear packing tape to give a similar shine. I was pleased with how this turned out. You can't actually tell that the numbers are die cut and not stamped and heat embossed.
I stamped the insert and coloured a few selected elements with gelly roll sparkle pens.
Don't forget there is always a prize to be won and this month the prizes are from Lavinia Stamps. Why don't you head over to the challenge blog to check it out? The prize winner is selected randomly and in addition the DT will choose a top three for special mention.
I hope I have inspired you to join us this month, all you have to do is ensure stamping (including digi) is seen somewhere on your card front, it no longer needs to be the main focus. Please also mention the products used. It would be great if you could join in with our theme, but anythings goes is always an option if you are out of ideas. The challenge will close at noon (UK time) on Wednesday 28th May.
I am looking forward to seeing you in the gallery.

The other day I shared some pictures of my trip to Wisley. Today I have been a bit closer to home and have enjoyed the spectacular display of bluebells at Sutton Hoo.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today, I really appreciate it.

Gorgeous card!
Love the card, so bright! And the enveloppe is also perfect! Your granddaughter will love it!
The pictures of the flowers are beautiful.
Fantastic fun card and image. Great idea with the packaging tape, I usually cover die cut numerals with glossy accents, tape would be easier! Beautiful photos, love bluebells but sadly they give me really bad hayfever...so will just enjoy your photo of so many in one place;-)
Just right for a ten year old, so bright and happy. Great idea to use the packing tape too.
Great fun birthday card Hilary using a fab vintage PB image and beautiful colouring with your Zig pens. Gorgeous bluebell pictures too - I have recently also seen some beautiful carpets of bluebells on our walks, it really lifts the spirits at this time of year xx
Oh, my gosh, you did an amazing job with the coloring of this darling stamp, Hilary! It's ideal for a little granddaughter. Your numbers look absolutely perfect and I love that method with die cuts. You really can't tell the difference. You are so lucky to have such a beautiful place for a walk! We have some nice parks and even a botanical garden, but nothing like your gorgeous Sutton Hoo.
Awww what a fantastic fun card Hilary love the image so much also love your pics

Such a happy bright card Hilary. I love this stamp and the gorgeous die you used to cut it. Great idea to add tape to the numbers, I might have to try that.

Always enjoy seeing what the world looks like where you are, Hilary! That Mia is such a sweetie and clearly that stamp was meant for you! Adorable card with wonderful coloring!
You coloring looks amazing, Hilary, and I love the critters - they look so merry and playful and ready to party! Love your idea of using clear packing tape for the diecuts too - I must remember that one! Great card, Hilary!
This is such a sweet image, Hilary, and your colouring is superb! Your Granddaughter is sure to love this beauty. The bluebell woods look amazing - you can't beat seeing them in large swathes. I haven't been to Wisley for a few years now, but it was beautiful on my last visit.
Take care of yourself.

Great idea to stamp onto the insert too and add just a touch of colour.
