May Card Chain Challenge Reveal

Today is 2nd of the month so time for the Card Chain Challenge big reveal. This month 22 card makers took part and I sent my card to Barbara in Switzerland.

From all the options I used the themes of chicken and friendship. I thought it was high time that this chicken stamp by Woodware saw the light of day. As it is quite a large stamp, I decided to make a 7x5 card and started by stamping and heat embossing the image with chocolate caramel pearl Wow embossing powder.

As the chicken is so detailed I decided to keep the background simple, so I masked the chicken and blended some blue ink to give some background interest. The chicken was then coloured with sparkle pens.

The sentiment came with the chicken. I stamped and heat embossed it, die cut it and blended a little of the blue ink over the die cut. I also stamped and heat embossed the chickens claw so that it wasn't hidden behind. Love those little details!

You can get a slightly better idea of the shine from the embossing and sparkle pens on the above picture. Thankfully, this card made it's was to Switzerland in good time.

I was very lucky to receive this gorgeous card from Robyn in Australia. Thanks Robyn.

If you would like to take part in the next card chain challenge, you have until 6th to sign up here

As promise yesterday here are a couple of different views of my garden:
Here are some of my succulent pots
The Californian Poppies are enjoying the sunshine

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today, I really appreciate it.

You have some very interesting stamps with you! I love this large image and am happy that you were able to get a good enough impression of it - a problem with large stamps, for me, is ensuring that the stamping is right and complete. Misti helps me so much there! Great card, Hilary!
And your garden looks so amazing - love all the succulents there!

What a handsome chicken, Hilary and you have coloured it so beautifully. I love your clever masking and adding the claw over the sentiment. Your garden looks beautiful, and the succulents are a great idea, especially now that we're having less rain in the summer.
Hope you are well,
Hugs

Oh, I love the chicken! So much detail, but what a fabulous result. You have gone the extra mile with the claw on the sentiment panel, too. Hilary, I think you know how I love all things garden. Such a gorgeous setting you have in the sunshine. It's so ferociously windy here this week I can hardly be outside.

What a fabulous stamp, Hilary, and so cleverly used on your gorgeous card.
Your garden looks wonderful - mine is pretty plain now with winter upon us - but my daffodils are coming through and the cyclamen on my steps are looking lovely now.
Blessings

Your chicken card for the Card Chain Challenge is absolutely charming. The heat embossing gives it such a lovely texture, and the sparkle pens really make that chicken pop. It is those little details, like the visible chicken claw, that truly make the card special.

It is wonderful that your card made it safely to Switzerland, and how delightful to receive such a beautiful card from Robyn in Australia.

Your garden views are also lovely. The succulent pots look so neat, and those Californian Poppies are just glowing in the sunshine. Thanks for sharing these joyful creations.

I have missed the Card Exchange for two months due to my right shoulder surgery - but I'm on the mend and with Physical Therapy am gradually getting back the movement and strength in my shoulder! I've signed up for the June challenge and glad to get back in the swing! What a gorgeous chicken, Hilary, so beautifully embossed and colored! Your blue background is perfect for it as well as the tri color framings! Julia xx

Oh that is some chicken Hilary and coloured beautifully. Looks like it would take an age to colour it so detailed as you have done. Perfect card for sure. I love seeing photos of your gorgeous garden!

That zentangled chicken looks like so much fun to emboss and color with schparkle, Hilary! You did a brilliant job with the background and all the little details! I'm glad I came by when you were showing your garden! It's amazing and I love seeing those succulents we talked about long ago and what a connection we have with those California poppies!
