So Many Stars

Today I thought I would quickly share this card I made for my grandsons 12th birthday back in March. I have quite a large collection of cards that I haven't shared yet and when I saw the topping for the current seize the birthday challenge I realised it was time for this one to see the light.

Whilst I made this card, I can't really claim any credit for the design. I think I found it on pinterest, but have been unable to find it again, so my apologies to the designer. I have used one of Tonic Studios Stamp Club stamp and die sets called shoot for the stars.

I don't have any large number dies so I cut the numbers out of vellum with my scan n cut. It was very pleased to be used, as it mostly sits on my shelf gathering dust!

I followed this tutorial by  Sarah Trebilcock to create the pop up element inside the card. She uses butterflies in her example, but it was simple to use stars instead. I die cut loads of stars in blue and yellow card and had fun arranging them on acetate strips so that they jump up when the card is opened.

Seeing the no flowers theme made me realise how the vast majority of my cards have at least one flower on them. I am conscious that I have only been posting my DT cards and my cards for the card chain challenge recently. Just doing that seems to eat up all my available time. As time has gone on I don't seem to have got any quicker and life still seems busy.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today, I really appreciate it.

Fabulous fun card for a 12yrs, my two Grandsons play for football academies but there are only so many football cards you can do lol I ended up buying one with all silly jokes on for the 12yrs! Love the front but the inside definitely has the WOW factor with all the pop-out stars-brilliant.

OMGosh! I was thinking that's a cute card for a 12 year old boy; I like the stamps and the style... and then along came the inside -- WOW! Simply amazing! I'm still agog. What a fabulous surprise! Somehow I keep feeling busier than ever, so I do understand. Maybe I'm just slower, but I feel like I'm juggling a lot, and any time spent in my room feels stolen. I'm hurrying now to get ready for a doctor appointment (routine), and there's more on the agenda after that. I wish it was all a little more fun, but such is life.

What a terrific BD card, Hilary! Great design to case and I love your color scheme and use of vellum for the numbers! There's definitely not enough time for me to keep up and still spend time crafting. Crafting is my happy place, so I know I need to let myself do that.
