Hello, I realise that I have been absent in blogland for several weeks, but I am glad to report that I have finally got some time back and am able to return. My husband managed to break his elbow before Christmas, which was very traumatic for us both and meant I had to step up to the challenge of supporting him and taking on all his household chores. I have to say that it has definitely made me appreciate just how much he does, and it has also made me admire people who live on their own even more. Thankfully he is now on the mend and I am getting a bit more time for my hobby again. I hope to be able to visit you all more now too.
I recently found a number of foiled pieces that hadn't been made into cards, so decided to put that right. Here are 2 of them. This little basket of flowers is a hotfoil stamp by Couture Creations. After foiling I cut it out with a circle die and matted it onto a circle of metallic card. The white panel was diecut and embossed with a stitched square die. The sentiment, by Uniko, is stamped and clear heat embossed.
The second card is made in exactly the same way, but I didn't have a piece of the blue glittery card big enough for a full mat so I just placed strips at the edge. I think it works.

So nice to see you crafting Hilary, your cards look lovely in both colour ways and so effective with the inlaid focal embossed panel.
Sympathise with hubby, elbows are difficult ones unless things have changed (I fell off taking a jump at a gymkhana years ago) and a sling was all that could be done for an elbow making life very difficult.

Good to hear your hubby is recovering and you’re now getting a bit more time Hilary, caring duties can be exhausting, even with a “good patient”. The cards are lovely and the smaller strips definitely work. Even though the full mat is pretty I think I like the way the colour draws your eye to the focal basket even better on the blue one.

I'm sorry your husband broke his elbow and I know how that can muck up the normal state of things. Hopefully he is fully healed and you both appreciate each other even more. This is such a simple yet beautiful way to use a foiled image! So perfect for any occasion!

Oh my! Just like my mothers, the elbow! I hope he will recover as soon as my mum. And I can imagine you were aware of all his household chores... You did them all by yourself now? It makes you gratefull,i think.

Oh no! So sorry about your husband's injury and glad to hear he's improving. Every so often I wonder what I would do about certain things if hubby wasn't here. I see advantages to being in senior housing with many things taken care of, but I still don't picture myself there. Will see what the future brings. Anyway, your cards are sweet as can be! Elegant set of cards, letting the foiling be the star. Sorry about your hubbys elbow - that sounds a painful one to break and must be awkward to fix too.
