Christmas in March

I don't quite know what got into me the other day, but I have made a Christmas card. That's unheard of for me in March, but things change I suppose. I was inspired by this months CAS Christmas challenge which is celebrating it's third birthday and is hosted this month by the wonderful Loll. She has asked us to use kraft, red and white on our cards. The lovely Gundi, this months guest designer, has inspired me to take part with her card.  She used a stamped holly sprig and colouring on a kraft cardbase, I think it is stunning.

I haven't used colouring but I have used a new (to me) holly die from Creative Expressions.

This is such a simple card, but I am quite pleased with the result. The berries on the holly have been coloured with an alcohol marker and then painted with a clear sparkle pen, sorry you can't see that in the pictures.

I will just finish with a picture of my Camellia as it has started to flower and has been cheering me up this week.

I took this picture a couple of weeks ago so it has many more flowers open now. It is so pretty, the flowers fade to white as they get older. It seems to be liking it's new position by the front door.

Also sharing at:

Supplies:
Cardstock: Kraft and white stamping card
Ink: Spectrum noir alcohol marker
Stamps:  Uniko
Dies: Creative Expressions

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today, I really appreciate it.

Oh your camellia has flowers! Beautiful. No sign of any bursting open here in the frozen North!
Love this card Hilary - I have just done a card with a bit of corrugated card in the background too - but love the Kraft (and that holly die is immense!)x

LOVE your design Hilary! Such a pretty holly sprig with berries and it looks fabulous on the corrugated background. Love how you've framed your holly and added the frame to the sentiment.

Your camelia is gorgeous ... it looks so delicate and pretty. I can see that you had a LOT of large buds just waiting to burst when you took this photo. I have a camelia as well, but I haven't been out to check if it is blooming yet. Now on my to-do list. :) xx

I am up at a reasonable time after having got some sleep. I'm brewing a cup of tea to sip on while I look through the blogs. This is a fabulous card Hilary. The pops of red and white on the craft are stunning.

Hilary, I love that darling die! Kraft and red are one of my favorite combos for Christmas ... and I am WAY behind my set goal number! I'll be playing along, for sure.
Now may I just echo the others and say how gorgeous this Camellia is? I never knew their color faded! Just look at all the buds - you must have dozens of blooms by now! The scene outside my window is never this beautiful!
