August CCC Reveal

Today is the second of September (already!) so time for the reveal over at The Card Chain Challenge. 25 people took part this month so the reveal post will be well worth a look. This month I used the theme of friendship and the product/technique of stamping and vellum.

This month my card went to the lovely Cat in Maryland and I am very sad to report that it hasn’t arrived yet despite sending it in good time :(. I am not sad anymore because it arrived on 3rd Sept and Cat loved it, hooray!

I inked my stencil with various shaded of yellow, orange and green and then stamped through the stencil with some tiny wood mounted stamps that I got from Art Cuts recently. I was still trying out the technique of stamping through a stencil that we has on CAS Mix Up last month and I thought these tiny stamps would work well. They are so cute, I really should have put them in my photo, but somehow forget, next time perhaps.

I thought the image needed something extra so I used some transparent gloss texture paste to give the image some shine. Unfortunately my paste is getting old and a bit lumpy so I didn't get the smooth shine I wanted, but never mind I think it did the trick and lifted the image a bit.

My sentiment was stamped and heat embossed on vellum. I mounted the panel on some craft foam and then matted it on orange paper and then onto a coloured card base and finished it off with a few enamel dots. i think I am getting braver about using embellishments these days.

I received with amazing card from Arlene in California

There is still time to sign up for the September CCC.

Supplies:
Cardstock: White stamping card; adorable scorable coated card; 160gsm coloured paper for insert & mat
Ink: Distress Ink

Hillary, your card arrived in today’s mail. I had to delay opening as we were on errands. However, I am now home and did open it a few minutes ago and the photo does this fabulous card no justice at all. I love the texture of the glossy paste and the colors are fabulous. Thank you my dear friend for the lovely card made with such care and the debossed panels which I will surely use. This one is going up on my wall.

Oh! If ever there was the perfect stamps for stamping through a stencil, these cute little stamps are the ones! It's so pretty! I love these colors, and the gloss turned out great, I think. The little bit of lumpiness just adds an interesting texture. It's really lovely, Hilary, and I see that Cat did receive it -- yay!

LOVE the card you made for Cat!! Pretty flower stencil, made even prettier with the addition of the tiny stamps. Love this technique. Your gloss really does add to the flower, giving it shine and dimension. The vellum sentiment is perfect as it let's you see the design through. Great work Hilary!!! xx
