January CCC Reveal

Today is 2nd of the month so time for the Card Chain Challenge big reveal. This month 27 card makers took part and  I sent my card to Greta in Oregon.

This month I used the sketch option and the product/technique options glitter or sequins and embossing folder.

Here is the sketch:

I used off white card for the embossed panel and circle and mounted them on a cream textured card base. I got the hemstiched circles for Christmas and like them a lot. I also got the rectangles and have already made several cards using them.

I lightly inked the embossed panel, well I tried to do it lightly but it was quite a juicy ink pad. It is Catherine Pooler ink and I do find that the juiciness varies quit considerable between the different colours. Anyway, I quite liked the look so left it.

The flower stamp is by MFT and is stamped in Catherine Pooler colours and the circle was backed with a piece of green scrap card. The sentiment is stamped and heat embossed and I finished off with a few sequins.

I was pleased with how this turned out as I didn't have a clear vision for it when I started. It is always nice when you just go with the flow and it works out.

I was very lucky to receive this gorgeous card from Ellie in Illinois USA.

It is really beautiful in real life and very neatly made, thanks Ellie.
If you would like to take part in the next card chain challenge, you have until 6th to sign up here

Love the inking on the embossed panel, Hilary, and I can totally see why you like the hemstitched dies.
It's also fun to see the different takes on this sketch on the Card Chain Challenge blog.

Pretty colours and that embossed panel is beautifully inked Hilary, I think I'm too heavy handed as I always end up with ink everywhere I don't want it.

I love playing with sketches and I love seeing others use them too. It always amazes me how differently people interpret and choose supplies for sketches. This card is fresh with the different shades of green and I love textured look of the embossed panel.

Wowie, I really love what you did with the embossed panel. It might be the same EF I have and now I'm quite inspired to try this idea. Such a wonderful card you sent to Greta, and a pretty card received from Ellie as well!

What an eye-catchingly lovely card. The palette here is so fresh and upbeat. It reminds me of vast farmer's fields or wildflower meadows right around the time of the Summer Solstice, when all the outdoor world is tinged green and bathed in bright, beautiful yellow light.

Love the zingy colours you used on this pretty card. I have that EF and have always seen it as a masculine background but you've changed my mind on that now.
