Today I have a card to share that I made on the spur of the moment after seeing the current Time Out challenge and Michele's fabulous card that we are being asked to CASE.
Here is my card:
And here is Michele's card to be CASEd:
Just for a change, I saw this challenge and immediately had an idea for it, so I got on and made it without delay. I have been trying, without much success recently, to work on my watercolour skills, so I got out my paints and made this. I hope you like it.
I started by putting down a yellow background wash that I faded out towards the bottom of the panel. Then I cut a heart from paper to act as a mask and proceeded to paint the leaves, I also mixed my own greens from a yellow and blue (gansai tambi 43 and 62). Once I was happy with my greenery I painted the heart with no. 90, gold.
I cut the smile die twice from scraps of dark green card and once from white pearlescent paper, stacked them up and positioned over the heart., finishing with a few half pearls. The panel was trimmed and mounted on some dark green paper before mounting onto a white card base.
I am almost happy with my painting as long as I don't look too closely, but am very impressed that I got this done and posted so quickly. Highly unlike me.
thanks for the inspiration Michele and Time Out.
Supplies:
Cardstock: Daler Rowney watercolour paper; Dark green card and paper; white card base
Ink: Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolours 43, 62, 90
Dies: Smile by Sizzix
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today, I really appreciate it.

Utter respect Hilary to do the colour wash, the fabulous leaves and that beautiful heart x. No need to work on your water colouring skills, you have nailed it my friend x. Such a creative take on Michele's wonderful card and no wonder you are so pleased to get your card done and posted so quickly x.
Fabulous take on the challenge, Hilary.
Your watercolours skills are very good, Hilary!! Love how you painted all the greenery and the gold heart is just perfect!! The yellow background makes the design pop out!
I have some Gansai Tambi too (the Starry Light version)and they are really awesome, is always a pleasure using them, but my watercolour skills aren't good as yours.

It looks really gorgeous, Hilary! Your watercoloring has come out amazing, and I love how all those leaves look, even the gold painted heart has a perfect shape. I absolutely loved looking at this card - it really did make me smile! <3
Beautiful card and designed brilliantly as always. ♥
When I first looked I thought it was one of your turnabouts, but now I realize it's even better! I would be very pleased with the watercolor, and how pretty with the gold heart and pearls! Of course, it has that beautiful yellow background, too, seamlessly faded toward the bottom. You should be very proud!
Love these Spring colors, Hilary! Your watercoloring is beautiful and that gold heart is so elegant! Great job, my friend!

Radiantly beautiful card! I love the instant sense of warmth that this fantastic card radiates. It feels all the more needed as we slog through these last few bone-chilling weeks of winter.
