Today is the 18th so time for a reminder for the current challenge over at We Love Stamping. The challenge where we love to see you using your stamps.
I am sorry if I have been a little absent from blogland recently. I have been struggling to catch up with things after going away with my grandkids for a few days. We had a lovely time, but it did take it out of me! I am slowly getting there.
Karen has chosen our theme this month:
** Focal Sentiment or Quote **
OR
**Anything Goes **
**Anything Goes **
My card today features stamping and heat embossing. I started by blending distress oxides onto a smooth card panel and splattering some water over it. I then stamped and heat embossed the background text (by Uniko).
To add interest I cut a rectangle frame from the panel and one from plain card to prop it up. another white frame helped add structure to the design. The sentiment was stamped heat embossed and then die cut. I realised after the event that it would have been much easier just to cut the 'YOU' from card and then colour and emboss it, but of course I went the long winded difficult way and stamped the 'YOU' and then cut it with the matching die!
I hadn't intended to add anything else but it felt like it needed something so I added this pretty little flower by The Stamp Market. I was pleased. It seemed to complete it.
Don't forget there is always a prize to be won and this month there are 2 prizes of stamp sets, ephemera and stencils from AALL & Create. Why don't you head over to the challenge blog to check it out? The prize winner is selected randomly and in addition the DT will choose a top three for special mention.
I hope I have inspired you to join us this month, all you have to do is ensure that stamping (including digi) is featured somewhere your card. It would be great if you could join in with our theme, but anythings goes is always an option if you are out of ideas. The challenge will close at noon (UK time) on Wednesday 28th August.
I am looking forward to seeing you in the gallery.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today, I really appreciate it.

Gorgeous card, love the colours and the sentiment is brilliant. Ive been babysitting my 5 nieces 2 days a week through the holidays and boy is it hard work - they are just non stop talking and my brain not used to it - luckily they love crafting. I bet your grandchildren love a holiday with you and will always remember it. Emmax
What a pretty card Hilary - i do love your choice of background colours, and the white script embossed over it is perfect. Your sentiment treatment is stunning. The wee framed flower accents the whole beautifully
