We Love Stamping October Challenge

Today is the first Sunday of the month so time for a new challenge over at We Love Stamping

This month Emma has chosen our theme which is:
**Autumn**
or
Anything Goes

My autumnal leaf is made with Concord & 9ths triple step autumn leaf stamp set and matching dies. I used Catherine Pooler inks and mounted it on a foiled background, which gives it a lovely shine that you can see in the photo below.

Of course once I had this all set up, I didn't stick to just one. I chose 3 different colours and made this:

I used a die cut background that I lightly inked with green and edged in the dark red. I am not really sure about it as I think the background is in danger of overwhelming the leaf, which should be the star of the show. Let me know what you think.

Don't forget there is always a prize to be won and this month there are 3 prizes from AALL and Create, border stamps, A6 stamp and two stencils Why don't you head over to the challenge blog to check it out? The prize winner is selected randomly and in addition the DT will choose a top three for special mention.

I hope I have inspired you to join us this month, all you have to do is ensure stamping (including digi) is seen somewhere on your card front, it no longer needs to be the main focus. Please also mention the products used. It would be great if you could join in with our theme, but anythings goes is always an option if you are out of ideas. The challenge will close at noon (UK time) on Wednesday 30th October.

I am looking forward to seeing you in the gallery.

I am also sharing the first card at:

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today, I really appreciate it.

Difficult to choose a favourite from these two Hilary, the focal leaf and stamping really draws the eye to those rich colours.

Lovely to see you at Allsorts this week, your card is just perfect for Lynns Falling Leaves theme, thank you for sharing with us.

Both are so beautifully done! Love the shimmer paper on the first but the circle background is so wonderful too. As Brenda said, it would be so hard to choose a favorite.
Thank you so much for joining us at Allsorts challenge too!

The shimmer of the foil.. just wow! I love that!! That would make a gorgeous card just on its own, but it does the job just as well as a background. I do love the second card as well - and I don't think the leaf is lost, since the white does stand out against the blended green. But if you still feel so, and if it is possible, maybe just make the area around the leaf a bit darker so it gets highlighted better? I really don't think its needed though, the card looks beautiful as it is. :)

Two awesome creations Hilary, sorry I am not about much at the moment but have pulled a ligiment in my groin and not coming on the computer much. It is difficult to do anything at the moment.

It's easy to see that your Glimmer machine is working better than ever, Hilary! Just once I'd like to use those leftover foils and end up with a piece as perfect as yours!
Two darling Autumn cards!

BEAUTIFUL Fall cards, Hilary! Both are lovely, but I give the foiled one the edge! :) Love the colours of the leaves within the leaf. So fun and creative! xx

Wowie, I was intrigued enough to go look it up to see how it works. What a cool set! Of course, I love your colors. You always choose so well. It's amazing how foil changes appearance when moved in the light. I like the circle background, too.

What a lovely leaf die with all the images on it - your golden background really sets it off - glad you showed it at an angle so we could appreciate that! And the circle cover die makes it look more whimsical!
