Wishing you a very Happy New Year.
The December challenge is always a fiendish tic tac toe:
I find these quite hard so after much deliberation I eventually chose the bottom horizontal row: sage, stitch, silhouette, shrubbery, silver.
I have used various shades of green, but the ink is Catherine Pooler sage. I stitched onto a silver die cut after using a Spellbinders stitching die. The silhouette is the bird stamp by
Clarity Stamp. The set contains 20 4cm square stamps. I bought it on the spur of the moment in their half price sale and I am very glad I did because I have used it several times already, and I love the images. The shrubbery is on the stamp (I am counting the branch the birds are sitting on as shrubbery) and the silver is the silver metallic card and silver foiling on the sentiment. I have to say I was quite pleased when the idea finally came, but the card did take a while to put together and the decision about the sentiment was tortuous, but I got there in the end. Apologies for the poor photos.
I was very lucky to receive this gorgeous card from
Brenda in UK. You can't see in the picture but the snow edges have a wonderful sparkle to them.

It's incredible that you've incorporated all those elements!! I looked and looked and felt that there was nothing I picked - I should ask you if I am ever stuck with a tic tac toe!! The silver die cut looks fabulous - you've really picked the perfect die for it. And your labourous work has really yielded great results. What a stunning card, Hilary! I should say the year is off to a fantastic start!!
You pulled off the brief beautifully Hilary, looks like lots of work but so pretty. I also struggled with the shrubbery, I decided it was a very distant one across the hills.

Wow, Hilary - what a beautiful card you created from your row - wonderful stitching in the greens over the silver - well done you! Hope you had a lovely holiday season! Julia xx
Happy New Year, Hilary! You've started your crafty year out just beautifully! LOve the sage-y green with that silver foil card!
The card Brenda sent you reminds me of one of the Jacquie Lawson ecards I received from my cousin in Audlem! [yes, in the UK!]

Very stylish stitched card Hilary with a real wow factor … so much detail!! xx
Oh, Hilary, I laughed at your description of the tic tac toe board as "fiendish" because I thought the same thing just now. It seems like a LOT. However, the way you pulled this together is quite amazing! The agony over the sentiment is an all too familiar experience. Why, oh why does it have to be so difficult sometimes? Everything about your card is gorgeous, and I especially love the little bird squares. Brenda's card is so pretty, too. I hope to pay more attention to my Lavinia stamps this year.
Beautiful card Hilary. Your stitching on the silver coverplate makes these card so very special, my friend. Love the sweet bird on a branch. I know what you mean about figuring out where to put a sentiment when using coverplates, but it looks fabulous, so worth the time spent. Gorgeous wintery card from Brenda. xx
Hi Hilary
You did a great job incorporating all of your Tic Tac Toe elements .. .. a lovely finished look. Please don't show me dies you can stitch!!! I mustn't get drawn into those LOL!!!
Love Jules xx
What a wonderful card Hilary - love how you have combined the elements to make this beauty - the stitching alone would have taken a fair amount of time!!
Blessings

IWOW, just beautiful. I wasn't going to touch anything to do with stitching.
I know this die, It's a very special one. In silver it is very delicate. The little stamp in the center is beautiful.
The card you've received is a beauty too!!
