Things with Wings

Hello,
Today's card is going to We Love Chocolate Baroque where the current challenge is 'Things with Wings" or anything goes. They are celebrating a new Chocolate Baroque challenge blog with several giveaways this month, here is a picture of one of the prizes to be won.

I was lucky enough to win the Honey Bee Chocolate Baroque stamp set last year so have used it on my card - perfect for the theme.

I started by stamping and masking my image on a card panel then I used my new Catherine Pooler mini inks and several stencils to create the background. I didn't really have a plan, I just went for it. Once I was happy with the background I coloured the image with alcohol markers and coloured pencils. I then re-stamped the image in black and decided to heat emboss it with clear embossing powder to give it a shine (sorry you can't see that in the photos).

I cut the panel with a scalloped frame die and mounted it on some bright fuchsia pink craft foam. You can just see it poking out is you look carefully.

I love pink and grey so decided to mount it on a grey base, I then spent ages deciding on the sentiment and whether to add one at all.  In the end it was stamped in black and clear heat embossed on grey paper. I have to say I am quite pleased with this one. I hope you like it too.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today, I really appreciate it.
xx

How lovely to see you at our first challenge Hilary and with a totally delightful card. Honey Bee seems to be such a popular stamp set and certainly one I enjoy using, especially the Digitalis.

The background is really effective, dots and spots always work so well, I'm just trying to decide if it's the All and Create one. Whatever it makes a lovely backdrop for the lovely bloom and Bee.

Thank you so much for making a special card and joining us at We Love Chocolate Baroque.
