Squash it!

Today I am sharing a quick and easy card hat I have made for the new Let's squash it challenge that has been started by Gail and Jo who you will be familiar with if you have ever taken part in the Card Chain Challenge. The new challenge aims to get us all using our embossing folders much more.  I am very pleased to see it as I have a collection of embossing folder that really don't get much use, and yet they they are a fantastic tool. Having thought that, the next step was to ensure that I take part, so I have made a really quick and easy card. The challenge prompt is  geometric and metallic.

I took a piece of metallic card and cut it with a stitched oval die, I then 'squashed it' with a Crafters Companion 3d blocks embossing folder which produced this rather cool effect on the metallic card..

The leaf die is by Pink Fresh Studio, I cut it and stacked it and coloured it with alcohol markers. I did the same with the thinking of you die. I finished it off by mounting it on a coloured card base and adding a few sequins.

Thank you Gail and Jo for taking the time and trouble to start this challenge, although I have no idea how you are finding the time for it, I am grateful non the less.

I am also sharing at:
Just Add Ink #528 - just add two sequins, ribbon, metallic foil. I have used sequins and metallic foil.
NBUS #19 - both dies used are NBUS (I just can't seem to stop ordering new stuff at the moment)

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today, I really appreciate it.
 Hilary

Gorgeous with that purple Hilary. Is that holographic card?? It has that look. Bet it looks amazingly blingy in the real. Looks pretty blingy on screen, and that is a lovely embossed pattern. Thanks for your kind words and for joining the fun at Let's Squash it!!! Hugz

Fab colour combo and a great use for your metallic card - looks really effective Hilary. My EF's are also rarely used so might try to rectify that!
With you on the ordering front - I have well spent up recently - am blaming lockdown - Unfortunately tho' lockdown is also responsible for absent Mojo so my NBUS pile is growing! x
