Two cards to Share

Hello, today I have two cards to share. Both are made from new goodies received as presents from others and me (I didn't resit the sales)!

Card 1
I couldn't resist ordering this string panel, I thought it would be so versatile. I used it for my daughters birthday card (haven't shared that yet) and I had some silver pieces left over so had a head start on the color hues challenge which asked for silver and white.

This is really simple just die cuts and no stamping. I inlaid the silver pieces and stacked the flower pieces and sentiment and glued them down. Only trouble was taking the photo and trying to keep the silver mirror card clean!

As usual the photos don't really do it justice, but I have avoided too many reflections, it just looks black instead!

I am sharing this at:
Color Hues #33 - silver and white

Card 2
I got the spellbinders hemstitched rectangles for Christmas and very quickly made several thank you cards with them. This is one of them, I thought the hemstitch adds just enough interest to the tiny rectangle that it would make a good backdrop for a few flowers, which were cut and coloured with alcohol markers before being arranged on the panel.

The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed. The colour of the base card is a pale green as shown on the first picture. The colour is rather washed out on the other pictures, I am afraid.

I am sharing this at:
Perfect CAS #23 - Flowers
Snippets Playground #419 - my snippets are the die cuts

Supplies:
Card 1:
Cardstock: Nina solar white 80 & 110lb; Xcut adhesive metal effect sheets, silver
Dies: Altenew string panel and essential sentiment strips; Creative Expressions, flower

Card 2:
Cardstock: Hunky Dory mattastic card; scraps used for diecut flowers
Stamps: Uniko
Dies: Sizzix thinlets 664380; Spellbinders hemstitched rectangles

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today, I really appreciate it.

Two gorgeous cards. The first is very striking and the second is lovely and spring like with your snippets flowers.

I'm waving hello from the Snippets Playground Treehouse - come on up to join in the celebrations.

That's a very cool string die! I hear you about trying to keep the mirror CS clean. Your sentiment looks like industrial stamped metal and is a great look. I really love your CAS thank you card, too. Very sweet. You'll probably use those hemstitch dies a lot. Have fun with your Christmas goodies!

That string die has been on my wish list for awhile, and you've given me another reason to keep it there! Your card is wonderful! Mirror card is SO hard to photograph, but I can imagine how much more striking it must be in "real" life! Thanks for joining us at Color Hues!

Two very different cards Hilary, but both so striking!! Love the die plate you used for the stained glass effect, it seems very versatile and could be useful also as stencil. Your card looks so classy in silver and white!
Taking decent photos of mirri cards is a mission impossible...
Love so much the sweet elegance of the second card with the little frame and the flowers.

Hilary, I think those hemstitched dies are my most-used dies of all - so happy you received them for Christmas! Your premier using them is so feminine and perfect!
You're right about photographing the silver paper - there are few among us who can get it just right. But never fear, we all get it! Love that string die - bound to see a lot of use, too. Let's not forget that pretty little poppy - so sweet!

Thank you Hilary for sharing both your beautiful creative cards. Your 1st card is so elegant and such a creative design. I love your 2nd CAS card design using your Hemstitch die to cut the sweet green layer for your pretty perfectly arranged die cut flowers. I have not used that small Hemstitch die except for a sentiment. Love your clever way of using it for your wonderful Clean and Simple design. TFS Love and Hugs...Nancy

Again two extraordinarily beautiful card. And I also know the problem with photographing mirrored cardboard, it's almost impossible. I am enthusiastic about this small frame on your second card. The little flowers complement it perfectly.

Fabulous card Hilary! I did smile at the Spellbinder rectangle dies - I haven't used mine yet but there's also a set in the Toy Box here as a future prize! Great minds and all that. The string panle die is a keeper as well! Wonderful work.

Two wonderful cards Hilary! I can imagine how lovely and shiny the silver and white card is in real life and the CAS, hemstitched floral card is superb. I really feel your pain about taking photos in the UK Winter! Have a great weekend, Vicky x

Two great cards, Hilary! I love that string background and how you've inset it using silver foil! Such an elegant card! The second card is so sweet with those beautiful little flowers mounted on the hemstiched rectangle! I love how the wide mat draws the eye to the flowers!

ooh I like the look of the string die (not to self - do not need!) you've made a wonderful and different card with it. Love your second card with the CAS design too.

Wonderfully designed cards--love them both! The pale green card with the little rectangle & foliage really appeals to me! I've looked at those Spellbinder dies several times, but so far still don't have them.

I didn't see either of these over at NBUS, Hilary, but I applaud you for using your new goodies so quickly! You inspire me! These are both fantastic and show your design range from full-coverage to uber CAS! I have to say I do particularly love that sweet little bouquet and the soft green card base. Hugs, Darnell
