March Card Chain Challenge Reveal

Today is 2nd of the month so time for the Card Chain Challenge big reveal. This month 30 card makers took part and I sent my card to Kath in the UK. I am so glad it didn't have far to go as I have been a bit behind with things this month.

This month I used the colours and was inspired by the sketch, but didn't follow it exactly.

When I saw the sketch, I thought of this cover plate die and cut it from a deep brown and  pink card. I inlaid the pink circles into the brown card. Not really sure why I didn't just put pink card behind it, but I do seem to like making things difficult for myself, plus I really like the smooth look you get from inlaying.

The sentiment is a die cut 3 times from the pink and a green card. The 'you' is also a die which I cut off a longer sentiment.

I added just a little extra interest by stamping in the circles with some tiny wooden handled stamps from Art Cuts.

Finally I cut a stencil with the die and used it to add some decoration on the insert and the envelope.

I am afraid the colours on my close up are rather washed out. I think I had to used my light box for the pictures and this tends to happen.

I was very lucky to receive this gorgeous card from Mia in Greece and of course, Mia being the very generous person she is I also received a box of goodies as well. Thank you so much Mia, I can't keep up with your generosity.

My February card that got delayed from Helen has also arrived. Thank you Helen.

If you would like to take part in the next card chain challenge, you have until 6th to sign up here

You had another very unusual card idea. Awesome. And yes, Mia is one of the loveliest and most generous people I know. Enjoy your gifts.

A labour of love surely with all the inlaid circles, Hilary! You have a lot of patience and precision! Love the effect!
Beautiful cards from your pals and I agree, Mia is a very generous lady!
So glad you have had a lovely Birthday time despite the unusual snow!
Also in Italy there is snow and cold. In my zone only rain, not snow, but there blow very strong and cold winds.

Inlaid circles were well worth the effort, Hilary, and I love that you stamped on some of them - adds loads of interest! Love the trio of sentiments too - so cute!!

What a cute looking card! I agree- the inlaid look definitely looks smoother, and I would prefer it too, if the die cut doesn't have too many pieces. And I love the look of those little images you've stamped on some of them - that looks so cute as well!!
The cards you've received look great as well! :)

Trendy and fun design, you nailed the colors and I like the small stamped details too.

I like how you used these colors and the sketch, Hilary! I think insetting the pink circles is much nicer than having a pink piece behind and your stamping on some of the circles is a great idea!

I think the effect is better from inlaying too - a lot of work went into this though with all those tiny pieces. Looks great especially with he added stamping.

I can definitely see the sketch in your card and it's so cute! The inlay is a good look. I don't know how it is in the UK, but here in the US the inlay is a good way to avoid the weight and potentially additional postage extra layers might bring. You have received some very nice cards and things, too!

Wonderfully lovely cards one and all. I think that you stuck quite close to the sketch and really did a top-notch job with it.

Such a fun post, Hilary! Brilliant card using that great cover plate! It does give a very different & neat look to do the inlaying, but doubt I would have taken the time. Really love that you did a little stamping in some circles! CCC is such fun--never knowing what you'll get from friends, like you, around the world!
