Fishy Greetings

Hello,
Today I have a card I am sharing at CAS mix it up July Challenge, the options this month are alcohol lift ink + stamping + your choice.

I have used die cutting and dry embossing as my choice. That's 2 things so I hope that's allowed.

Here is my card:

The design of this card was inspired by Cat Craig's July Twofer entry. I really liked how she created the garden scene through a window and when I was trying to come up with a design for this card I wondered if I could make my window look like a porthole with a fish swimming by. Have I succeeded? Not sure.

The green water background was created with 2 shades of alcohol marker pen swiped over yupo paper. To create the bubble effect in the water I used a background stamp by Wow and green archival ink. I don't have any alcohol lift ink but you can get the same effect with archival ink by wiping the ink off straight after stamping. The little fish was cut once from silver card and once from white card. I wanted to highlight the scales so that they shone. This was a bit of a fiddle because the pieces are small and they had a mind of their own. In retrospect, I probably should have embossed the silver card. The circular frame was added to give the porthole effect and it was mounted on craft foam. I used the remainder of the alcohol inked panel to cut the sentiment.

I added a few clear crystalline drops as a finishing detail.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today, I really appreciate it.

Love the port thole effect and you sure have achieved the look of the fabulous fish swimming by Hilary. The greens of the alcohol inks and the lift technique with the archival ink look amazing. What patience with the fish and it sure was worth it. A fresh and stunning card and thank you for playing along at The CAS Mix UP Challenge x. You asked about the choices....More the merrier, so long as you have used at least one x.

You have definitely succeeded with your design, Hilary! It does look like a porthole! Love the swipes of shades of green with your lifted bubbles. Your inlaid fish is so pretty ... I can imagine that took ages to do! Great design! Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up!

A beautiful card Hilary. The design is truly exquisite and I love the green to contrast with that vibrant fish. The AI paper word die perfectly compliments well this special design. Thanks so much for joining us at CAS Mix Up!
