Collaborating with Cat

Hello
Today I am sharing a card that I made using this butterfly stamp and die set from Uniko. I bought the stamp and die set and then inadvertently bought the die set again! That meant that I had to buy the stamp set again and that's how this years collaboration with the wonderful Cat Craig came about. I know she likes Uniko products and I was fairly sure she didn't already have this set, so I sent it to her. I can't wait to see what she has made.

Here is what I made:

I started by masking my panel in order to ink the oval and lightly inked it. I think my brush must have had some residue ink on it as the colour came out a little muted, but I decided it didn't matter. The inks used are Catherine Pooler from the date night collection. The blue is cummerbund which I used to ink the edges of my mat and to stencil the butterflies on the background (the stencil is by Funky Fossil).

The large butterfly was stamped in black and heat embossed in clear. I then cut it with the matching die and coloured it with the colours from the date night set. The smaller butterfly and the sentiment were also heat embossed. I also used the smaller butterfly to stamp the insert and envelope. I do love the detail on it.

I hope you head on over to Cat's blog to see what she has made.

I am sharing this at:
NBUS 61 - The butterfly stamp is NBUS

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today, I really appreciate it.

Hi Hilary!
I'm afraid, the postcompany didn't do his work well. My card for your birthday still must be on his way....
Otherwise you would say it, wouldn't you?
The butterfly card is zo lovely. I'm fond of butterflies.
I'll take a look at Cat's.

Hilary, it is always a pleasure to collaborate with you. Your large butterfly is so fantastically colored, very much an eye catcher. I can examine it up close since you sent it to me (Thank you). Such a fun memento of our collaboration.

The oval really creates a lovely focus for the butterfly and I like the stenciled flutters as well. Gives great movement to your card. Thank you so very much for the stamps and dies, and the opportunity to play together even though we are so far apart geographically!

Kind of you to send it to Cat. Great that you had someone to send that extra purchase to - and someone who can use it well!
It's a wonderful card. I love the large oval you've used, it does make quite a difference to what would otherwise be a plain white background. I do love the large butterfly a bit more though - it looks gorgeous!

Fabulous use of Uniko butterflies Hilary, love your colouring and inking, and well done with the softer/darker oval, its colour makes the butterflies pop so well.
Fun collaboration with your friend Cat, love her card too.
Have a lovely weekend!

I think the internet ate my comment when it took a break a minute ago. Sorry. If memory serves it was a nice comment. I just want you to know how pretty your card is and it was lovely to see your collaboration with Cat.
