Pretty in Pink

Today I am sharing a card I made with my new foiling machine which I absolutely love. This was so easy to do. I used smooth white stamping card. It is important that the card is really smooth. I think the card I used for this one was from HeffyDoodle, but I also find that coated card works really well, and have had good success with glossy photo paper.

Everything is foiled on this card, the background, the flower and the sentiment and I used the left over foil to foil the insert. Not sure that I like that look so may not do it again.

The flower was cut with the matching die and painted with zig watercolour pens. I used a diecut circle to frame the sentiment and backed it with vellum just to mute the background slightly.

You can just catch the shine on the close up picture.

I am sharing this at:
The Flower Challenge 80 - pretty pastels
NBUS #50 - this is the first outing for the flower hot foil stamp

Supplies:
Cardstock: HeffyDoodle white letter sized cardstock
Foil: GoPress gold foil, iridescent shavings
Hot Foil Stamps: Spellbinders anemone glimmer blooms; Pinkfresh Studio scripted sentiments and matching die
Dies:  Heart cover plate by Sunny Studio

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today, I really appreciate it.

I'm sure that you will use your foiling machine more and more.:) Such amazing effects with the coverplate and the stamp! Your design is delicate and very elegant, the gold, white and pink palette looks so precious! Beautiful water colouring and love the circle of vellum with the sentiment inside!
Well done using the foil leftover, it's a shame trash it! I think that it could always be very suitable on white or delicate coloured envelopes. But it's so effective also on your vibrant pink.

I love the foiling, of course, and having foil on both the flowers and the background id double the fun, but I also adore how you've colored the flowers. I thought you had layering stamps for them. Absolutely stunning effects, Hilary! Gorgeous card!

You should be on commission Hilary because you've almost sold me on the idea, love the effects you achieved here. The subtle gold outline is so delicate.

I am guessing you use special stamps and medium to get the foil to adhere? If you get a moment please tell me more!

You are putting me to shame as I rarely get my machine out! I really must do better as I have hot foil plates I haven't used. This is so beautiful and inspirational.

So feminine, and beautiful, Hilary! Yes, paper is the most important element to success with hot foiling, isn't it? Love the sentiment in a circle - well done, my friend!

I found foiling to be a game changer - I much prefer it to gold heat embossing and I was thrilled to find you can use Copics for coloring. Speaking of coloring, your flowers are gorgeous, Hilary! The foiled background is fabulous too. Thanks so much for joining us at The Flower Challenge and have fun with your new toy!
