You Are Special

Hello
Before I show you my card I have a little request to make. Someone on my last post asked me a question, but I am afraid I am unable to answer it directly as she is a no reply blogger and her blog profile had no blog or email listed. I don't like it when someone takes the trouble to read a post and ask a question and then I can't respond, it is upsetting, so before asking please ensure there is a way to reply. I am very happy to answer any questions. Thanks.

Today I am sharing 2 quick cards. This one was inspired by this card made by the wonderful Cat Craig. Her post was perfect timing because I had just taken delivery of my Spellbinders order (I fell for the sale over Christmas), and this wonderful embossing folder was included. It always amazes me how well these folders emboss with no cracking and the most amazing texture.

After seeing Cat's card I had a look through my word dies and found this one, it was even already cut from this gold faux glitter paper. All I had to do was cut 2 more from scrap card, glue them together and attach to my panel.

I chose a cream card base to keep it simple and embossed the insert and the envelope, which I debossed by mistake!

Don't you just love all that texture, I don't think it needs anything else.

I had these little flowers sitting on my desk, so I made another one. The stamp and matching die are called wonder flower by Altenew. I coloured them with Stabilo watercolour pens.

I am sharing card 1 at:
NBUS #58 - the embossing folder is new

I am sharing card 2 at:
Beautiful Blossoms Challenge - Anything floral goes

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today, I really appreciate it.

Such amazing EF you bought Hilary! LOVE it very much, not only the embossing looks very dimensional, but it's also elegant, sweet and versatile, I think you also could emboss some circles with it, an added value to stretch the EF possibilities!
Love the first card with that faux glitter sentiment, it adds a lace feel to the whole creation, and the debossing on the envelope in my opinion adds interest!
The second card is fabulous with the bold and bright flowers, so cheerful!

What a fantastic embossing folder! I love that it's so fun, but it also embosses deeply and beautifully. Your debossed envelope looks good, too. I loved Cat's card and now yours, too. The flowers on your second card couldn't be more perfect with the embossed background! Colorful and fun. So cute and happy!

Two beautiful cards using your new embossing folder. You are right ... the embossing is so crisp and clean. Gorgeous design too. LOVE your first card inspired by Cat ... and the sentiment already being cut was a sign that it was meant to be. Your second card is so sweet with the colourful flowers. Awesome work as always, Hilary! xx

Completely agree - the embossing just look so wow!! I absolutely love the design too. Agree again - with that background, nothing else is needed! I do, however, love the second card too, where you've added floral focal point. They are both fab! <3

Hilary,
So glad you felt inspired. Your embossing with the gold sparklie sentiment is lovely. The cream base with the white embossed panel really add to the lovely card. I am always impressed with your finishing. Having been a lucky recipient of your cards, I can say its a delight to see the envie finishing and the inside panel that is so professional with the full opening insert. Anyway your second card with the flowery embossing and sweet colored blooms is quite lovely as well.
