Hello,
Today I am sharing my card at the Feb CAS Stencil Challenge, where we are asked to use brushes with stencils. I have had some brusho powder paints for a while but I have never used them with a stencil, so this was a learning curve for me. I ended up spending an afternoon getting a bit messy and making a number of backgrounds. Then, of course, I have to work out how to make them into cards. I always find that the hardest bit!
I will show you the first card I made in a minute because once it was made I realised it was a CAS challenge and my card wasn't CAS. So I started again with a different stencil and I made this:
The stencil is from the crafters workshop, it has always been my favourite. I cut a section of the image to create the panel and used gold coated card to make the highlights. I think this is still CAS but it may be borderline, not sure.
My second card is definitely CAS but I don't like it so much so am not entering it in anything. Here it is:
And here is the first card that really isn't CAS:
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today, I really appreciate.
Hilary

Looks like you had a lot of fun getting messy with powdered inks Hilary. All three of your cards turned out beautifully. I especially love the first card where I can see the flowers from the stenciled design. I can see why this is your favourite stencil! So pretty! I love the gold die-cut accents. Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Stencil!
Hillary, the cards are fabulous. I bet your second card would be more to your liking if you put that panel on a coordinating color card base. I bet it would look fabulous with the white panel, the peek through to the stencil piece and maybe a dark card base. YOur first card shows off the stencil nicely and definitely meets the cas definition. YOur third card is STUNNING. What a fabulous fall card that will be for some lucky recipient.
I so enjoy reading your posts Hilary and enjoy your learning process with you x. Yes I agree your first card wasn't CAS enough but what a beauty it is. I think your card that you are entering into the challenge is stunning. The colours are fabulous, the technique is wonderful and love everything about your card. The die cut butterfly perched on the end of that beautiful stencil work is fabulous x. Eye catching cards Hilary and stunning x.
Glad you took the brusho challenge and used them. You're one step ahead of me as I never bought them yet! Great cards!
Hilary your card is just wonderful, I love the colours in your side strip, it makes a lovely CAS card. Your other cards are great too, so glad you were enticed to have a play with your Brushos and thanks for sharing with CAS Stencil, hope to see you again
I think you did a great job with the stencil and powders. The first card is amazing and very eye-catching. Your butterfly card is a beautiful mix of colours and the butterfly is a lovely addition. I sometimes use the backgrounds I'm not so pleased with to make ATCs. Thank you for sharing at CAS Stencil.
Wow, Hillary...your very 1st time to play with your Brushos was a huge creative success. I Love your very 1st card that you are right, is not CAS, but what a forest beauty with your Brushos background, trees and birds. So happy you shared it with us.
But especially pleased that you made 2 more CAS card designs with your gorgeous stenciled Brushos background. Your panel, butterfly and narrow gold coated card stock strip are stunning and a beautiful CAS design. I think I have that stencil. I must check. TFS all 3 of your cards and joining us at CAS Stencil Card Challenge. Hugs..Nancy
You have found a wonderful way to process these great backgrounds to cards. I am very thrilled.
Fabulous collection of cards and all great designs with the lovely stencilled backgrounds xx
I'm so happy to see all the ways you have played with your stencils and brushos Hilary! Love the mix of colors on your stenciled strip on the first one. I find that to make a CAS design - I just cut down a panel to a smaller size to leave lots of white or open space. You did a great job on all of these! thanks for playing with us at CAS Stencil this month! xx
Very cool cards! You created lovely stenciled panels and backgrounds. So pretty!
