Today is 1st of the month so time for a new challenge over at CAS Mix Up. This month we are using mixed media and Bonnie is our host. She wants us to use botanical prints on our cards. If you visit the blog you will find ideas from the DT and some links to videos that demonstrate the technique. It is a really great technique very easy and very satisfying. Our wonderful guest designer this month is Izzy, I hope you pay her a visit to see what she has come up with for this challenge.
I started by walking round the garden and choosing some leaves. Then I followed Heather Telford's process. She explains and demonstrates it so clearly, that I just had to try it. I actually first tried it last year and found it straightforward to do. You can see the results from my first go at the end of this post.
After using acrylic paint and a gel plate to create my prints I die cut this one with a fancy frame die, this was then mounted on a panel that I had stamped with a background dots stamp. I cut it to size and used an oval die to create the curved edge. The sentiment was stamped in matching ink. both the sentiment and panel are mounted on green craft foam and I finished it off with 3 little sequins. I am definitely getting braver at adding embellishments. Not too many of course, this is a CAS challenge after all.
You have until 24th to join us and don't forget to visit the blog to get more inspiration and some links to technique videos to help.
I am looking forward to seeing you in the gallery.
I am also sharing this at:

I don't know anything about gel prints, but I may watch Heather's video just to see how this was done because all your results are just beautiful, Hilary!
WOW brilliant selection Hilary love them all.I used the technique putting flowers through the big shot a couple of years ago -but no flowers in the garden at the moment-might have to go garden raiding lol

Absolutely loving the look of your prints, Hilary! I am especially a fan of how it looks - kinda speckled.. I don't know how to describe it, but that mixed media look is unbeatable! I love what you had created last year as well - glad I got to see them now! Those cards look fabulous!!
Heather is such a good teacher, isn't she? You have mastered this technique, Hilary! Love the colors and the shape of this leaf with such a clean pull! The curved edge adds wonderful interest!
WOW what a fantastic collection of gorgeous botanical prints. Amazing.
Masterful results...I am in awe of your skill. All your cards are just beautiful (I may be a bit envious...or maybe a lot). Using a fancy die to cut your sweet leaf image was such a great idea. Then mounting it on your curved, embellished panel adds so much depth and interest. Makes for a very pretty card.
Oh Hilary these are just GORGEOUS! Thanks so much for joining in the fun at our Double D ‘Leaves’ challenge! Good Luck and we hope you’ll come back often.
