Today I have an embossed card to share. I used masking and ink blending followed by an application of perfect pearls to create this shiny panel before I embossed it.
The technique was showcased by Jennifer McGuire, but unfortunately I can't find the video to link it directly here.
It did go a bit wrong because I used so much perfect pearls powder that I completely covered the inking, which I think was blue! I decided it didn't matter as I really liked the bronze shine and so I went on to emboss my panel with this lovely paisley pattern. You have to love paisley. I found an old paisley stamp and decorated the insert and the envelop too.
The sun actually showed itself briefly as I was taking these pictures, so you can see the shine. Such a simple and yet effective technique.
Thanks to everyone that responded to my question about whether you listen to things while crafting. Several people said they were currently listening to Christmas music. That made me think about what my favourite Christmas song is and i am playing it as I write this. It is 2000 miles by The Pretenders. What's yours?
I am feeling good this evening as I have written all my Christmas cards and will put them in the post tomorrow morning when I am on my walk. It is going to be cold and frosty tomorrow though.
I am sharing this at:

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today, I really appreciate it.

My friend was telling me about this video, but I haven't seen it. No matter because the results are outstanding with that glorious bronze shine right in the middle of a sea of white. A beautiful card, Hilary! I have so many Christmas favorites. There is one particular CD mix a friend gave me that I play over and over at Christmastime (but not in my stamp room).
I love the bronze panel, very luxurious and opulent. A fabulous card.

This is a wonderful technique and makes for such a pretty card. I usually watch tv while crafting, sometimes the radio. Right now its tv.
Gorgeous card Hilary. I have done this technique before and was happy with it ... but have to say that you have made the most beautiful version. The bronze with the paisley embossing is perfection, my friend. Happy to hear you have your Christmas cards ready to post. My favourite Christmas song ... I like them all; but especially anything sung by Michael Buble! :)xx
AH... this is great! I think I can do something like this with wax. Maybe i will give it a try...You will see it than, of course....
Talk about gorgeous!! Yes, I remember watching this video too, though I never tried it myself. It's one of those fantastic creations you can do with an embossing folder - and you've chosen the perfect one too - those paisleys look stunning!
I hadn't answered that question before, so here - I usually watch my favorite animes while I craft. Sometimes I listen to my (only) playlist. Don't have a fav Christmas song, since we don't even celebrate it - and I even know only a few - I can probably sing a couple of lines of them, that's all!
Beautiful effect and the bronze really pops with the embossing ♥
The pearlised pane is so effective Hilary, really draws the eye.

That is one fabulous technique - I did make several cards when Jennifer released her original video, but the embossing really makes foe a stunning card.
An amazing card Hilary, and never mind the over application of perfect pearls - the result is stunningly beautiful
Blessings

Wow, that looks stunning and so classy. There shouldn't be anything else on the card, otherwise it would lose its effect!
Elegant and gorgeous, a fabulous technique!

What a terrific technique, beautifully done Hilary, this is a gorgeous card, the embossing certainly shows it all up too. Love your card. Christmas music? I am listening to Michael Ball and Alfie Boe. Lovely music.

I've been meaning to try it too so had the link. Had to buy a new set of Perfect Pearls, though, since I couldn't find mine in the stash, sigh....
Wow, how elegant card!! Absolutely love the bronze embossed shine on the gorgeous paisley panel!! Obviously I can't see the blue under the bronze, but think that it makes the bronze more dark and tactile! Love the stamped insert and envelope too!
I never hear tv or music when I create, except when my niece is here, she can’t help it :)
Hugs, have a lovely evening
My mother adored Paisley and therefore so do I! I might even have this particular embossing folder!
I have not watched Jen McG's video but I have seen lots of cards featuring this technique - none more beautiful than yours, Hilary! Gorgeous bronze perfect pearls!
I have an Alexa device in my studio - really enjoying Kelly Clarkson's Christmas mix at the moment. Keeps me energized!

I loved that Jennifer technique the first time I saw the video, but haven't done it in a long time. The shimmery bronze with the white is gorgeous! I've been listening to Christmas music whenever hubby is out doing something. My favorite song is Mary Did You Know by Kathy Matea or Jordan Smith. I hit the replay over & over--haha!
This is gorgeous, Hilary! I love the technique, which I first learned about from my friend Marcia (#32 on this month's NBUS gallery). I can't wait to give it a try. As you said, it's simple and VERY effective! Good job doing the insert and envelope, too. Happy Holiday Hugs, my friend! Darnell
Wow - I have to try this technique Hilary! what a beautiful result you achieved - so pretty with the metallic shine in the center! xx
I got a lovely paisley die set in the Sizzix sale a few years ago. I put together my other paisley craft items to make something - and no, I haven't got around to it yet. Maybe your beautiful card is the inspiration I need.
