Bird and Blooms

Today I thought I would pop in with a quick post to share a card that works for a couple of challenges. Of course, I should be using my time to catch up with other things. I am very good at doing things that aren't what I should be doing!

I got a BetterPress for Christmas and I think this is the first card I have shared using it. I was experimenting with different inks and this one was made using Versafine Clair rainforest pigment ink.
I think it worked pretty well.

The sentiment is foiled with green foil. I cut the panel with my current favourite die by Lisa Horton and used the same ink to ink the edges of the mat. It was then mounted onto a green cardbase. I decided to keep it simple with no colouring or embellishments.

I am sharing this at:
The Sisterhood of Crafters - March Challenge, use the colour green
Triple B March 24 - bird and blooms
NBUS #60 - this was the first outing for the Spellbinders BetterPress plate used on this card.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today, I really appreciate it.

Housework can wait and too wet to garden so craft is the obvious activity! A really lovely clean crisp image with your Christmas gift.

it's good to know all these other inks work with the better press. I love that image. My garden and backyard have taken over my life at the moment, we built a garage and have gained an extra 15ft of backyard. I'm hoping it will be usable for the summer :)

Such a pretty card Hilary - keeping the image uncoloured reveals the beautiful detail of it - an elegant card all over

I know what you mean about procraftinating Hilary. I should be making a card right now, but ideas are not good. This is beautiful card, love the green foiling and background. A beautiful stamp. x

Congratulations on the Betterpress and the beautiful result, Hilary! I think leaving it uncolored makes it elegant and I can imagine how pretty it is in person. I'd love a wallpaper like this in my bathroom! Thank you for inspiring everyone to use their NBUS! (At this point in our lives, making beautiful cards should always top our list of things we SHOULD be doing! Right?!) Hugs, Darnell

It seems I'm always the last to receive your posts in my news feed from FollowIt, Hilary. This gorgeous card just landed in my inbox and I could not love it more! Green is your favorite color, right? You've found the loveliest ways to feature it today. I'd love to know more about the fabulous paper you're using for Betterpress - just look at that lovely texture! Fantastic card!

This is so pretty inked with the green, Hilary! I find that Versafine Clair works well with the Betterpress.

Just do whatever you feel like doing at the moment! You can always catch up later! :)
The print has come out really well. The green really does make it shine, though I think other colors might have worked out just as good in your hands! :) Great card, Hilary!

I must say, there are some beautiful images for the Betterpress! This needs no coloring as it's so pretty on its own. I know you'll continue to do great things with your Christmas present. Lovely, Hilary!
