Today is Mothers' Day here in the Uk, so I thought I would share this card to wish all the mothers a very happy day. I hope it proves to be a day full of love and sunshine. I won't see my daughters, but I have heard from them both. They are both mothers now too.
I have surprised myself with this card because it is so very busy and bright. It also took quite a process to make.
The background is a Crafters Companion turnabout stamp and I heat embossed the yellow turn. The flower die was cut several times from white card, a few petals were coloured and inlaid and the base (the die has an outline as well) was coloured yellow. The flower die was then stacked and the yellow petals filled with glossy accents. A top layer was added that had been coloured with the do si do ink colour. Few, it took a while!
We have had some sunny weather today. I have really enjoyed it, and here is a picture of one of my camellia flowers. The plant is in a pot by my front door. It always cheers me up to see it in flower. Isn't it beautiful? Spring is definitely here.
I am sharing this at:
Cut it up #299 - colours of spring
The Flower Challenge #89 - make a square card
Before I go I have an added bonus. I made another one.
This one doesn't have any heat embossing or glossy accents - that proved to be too much!
I think I might like the colours better though.
I am sharing this one at:
Die Cut Divas - anything goes
Wishing you all a very happy day.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today, I really appreciate it.

The background looks so full of pretty flowers, leaves and lots of colors! Absolutely spectacular! And I'm also always in awe of how well you can apply the turnabout stamps - they are perfectly stamped!
Wow!! Love it and also the bonus one! They make me think to Spanish or Brasilia parties, especially the first one with those bold and sunny colours! Great work with your turnabout and those flower dies are the perfect centre places. Surely you did a lot of work, but the results are fabulous.
Your Camelia is so delicate and gorgeous, a joy for the eyes, how much perfection in Nature!
Here today sun and rain, rain and sun.. all the day. I wait Spring too!
Hugs

Full of spring, these are both great Hilary! The first one has a definite folk art vibes about it, too.
Two beautiful and colourful cards Hilary. They both look like A LOT of work, but so worth it!! Your camelia is gorgeous and absolutely perfect. xx
Happy Mother's Day to you, Hilary! I really love your gorgeous cards and can see that they did take a lot of your time and attention to make - worth every second in my humble opinion!
I can't imagine something so beautiful blooming at my front door - it is amazing! My new tulips [planted last Fall] have popped out of the ground and were given the 'cold treatment' with a dusting of snow last night... definitely Springlike Michigan weather!

So nice to know it is (was) Mothers day in the UK. Is it always the second sunday in March? Here in the Netherlands of is the second sunday in May.( Fathers day is the third sunday of Juni) your cards are really splendid. I love the bright colors and the large flower in the middle. Both are stunning
This is so bold and pretty - love the background paper. Thanks for sharing with us at Cut It Up :)
Two wonderfully bright and cheerful cards, perfect for Mother's day ♥
A pair of beautiful cards Hilary - love the coloured petal inserts and glossy accents in the brighter one. The purple appeals to me also as that is in my preferred colour range :)
Blessings

Two really stunningly beautiful cards, although I also like the color combination of the second cards a little better.

Both cards are eyecatching, Hilary. I do think this time of year I am drawn more to the second with the cooler shades.
OH! My goodness Hilary, what amazing cards, a lot of work methinks but so worth it. Fabulous colour choices too. As for your Camellia, what a beauty. Ours is just plain pink, although we have had the most incredible lasting flowers this year. x
Hilary, your cards are both absolutely fantastic! I love the bright colors and I think the first may actually be my favorite. I watched a turnabout video recently and I can see how playing with these stamps can be rather addictive. Don't get me started! Your camellia is an absolute work of nature's art. Flowers fascinate me when I see them up close. Happy Mother's Day (just a little late)!
I love these designs and colourful cards, a feast for the eyes.

So colourful and clever, they remind me of folk art. I loved the first one then scrolled down and saw the equally lovely second card.
Oh, such lovely colorful cards! And, your camellia flower is gorgeous with the beautiful pink edges!
Both cards are just lovely. So glad you joined our "Anything Goes" challenge at Die Cut Divas.
Hillary, both of your cards are gorgeous (as that live Camelia blossom on your front porch)! I am truly smitten with your first creation, with the bright yet cohesive colors and the layered floral with the inset petals! Talk about a wow card! Thank you so much for joining us at Color Hues!
Beautiful cards and gorgeous designs with those colours too ♥
Your camellia bloom is the prettiest I've ever seen! I didn't know there was another company making turnabouts. Your cards are so happy and worth your efforts!
Lovely.
